Default Slammed Crossfire

Not in a good way, some a-hole blew through a stop sign and hit me right on the front passenger side wheel. My car might be totaled. It sucked even more when the cop, tow truck guy, and kid who hit me's parents told me how beautiful the car was. Well if it is totaled, I may be an srt-6 owner. I'll find out what's going on tomorrow...

Sorry to hear that. I'm assuming that all are OK? (Except the xFire?)
Hope it works in your favor. you might be able to use Hagarty Insurance replacement estimator as ammunition with your carrier.

Best of luck!

Thanks, I'll try the hagarty estimator.. No serious injuries, but my back is a little sore. both airbags deployed, windshield is cracked, wheel is cracked, suspension is jacked, the whole side needs to painted. The engine still starts up though. Hopefully everything works out, the cop said it was 100% the other guys fault for failure to yield. I bought the car Jan 23rd, and it only has 3,000 miles.

Dang, that's too bad. So sorry to see that but glad you were not injured badly. It just shows how tough these cars are. Even if it's not totaled, I would get it repaired and trade up for an SRT6. It will probably never be the same again...i.e. been there...done that.

Glad you're ok. I know how much you loved this car, especially with all the pictures you took. Hope you get the best out of this situation and you come out of it better than when you went in!

Look at the good side, at least it wasn't your Mach I.
Glad to hear you weren't seriously injured.
Good Luck dealing with their insurance.

On the same subject - Kinda...

About a week ago I was on a canyon run when a Toyota pickup (I'm out in the middle of a huge orange grove) pulls out right in front me - I hit the brakes and miss them but the four girls in the pick truck-up speed on - miss a stop sign and slam into a car...

Turns out they had just stole the pickup from a driveway while it was idling (right in front me) - I asked the driver who was hit if he was OK - he said yes - And I noticed the pickup had stopped about 1/2 mile up the road. I pulled out my camera and hit the gas and snapped some pictures of the pickup and the license plate... two of the girls jumped out a ran into the orange grove the other two jumped into a car coming the other way and headed back towards the accident scene. I turned around and caught up (no problem in an SRT6) and snapped a few pictures of the other car, those two girls got out and ran away...

The punch line is -- I waited for the Highway Patrol (1 hr later) and gave my story, and my address, phone # etc... - showed the pictures to the officer - I expected to hear from an insurance adjuster or something... never got a call... go figure that one?? The owner of the truck even showed up at the scene..

Never know what you'll see on a Canyon Run..

I apreciate everyone's sympathy(seriously).. . Im glad everyones ok.... even the kid who hit me (who he said was going through tough times) I was thinking it wasnt my mach 1 too (saftey reasons) and im soooo glad my girlfriend wasnt in the car. (sorry ive been drinking LI ice teas all night) but if it was the mach 1, id be screwed. But damn i love that car, but at this point i kind of hope its totaled only because i dont want the major accident on the carfax when i try to sell the car. All I can say is that before I knew it the airbags were deflating and I screamed at the guy (who called me an *******). thank god everyone was ok. Not to be "that guy" but I was at a buddy of mine I used to skateboad with's funeral mass before.. and it really got me thinking about how abruptly life can end... hopefully everything works out. I cant even play forza 2 on my xbox and race my srt6 because I got the red ring of death... Im glad I'm completely mobile and alive at this point... thanks to everyone

Lol thats ******* awesome brian, I wish I saw things like that where I live, I am surprised you didnt get a ticket from an officer hiding in the orange grove, but what you did is great it's like a hired mercenary.. in a batmobile..

downwardspiral i feel your pain and sure hope they total it so you can opt for the SRT and don't deal with all the problems the repairs are going to cause, because from the looks of it the needed reapirs probably cost over 50% of the car's value..

It might take a few months before anyone tries to contact you.

I witnessed a huge wreck involving a GMC Jimmy and a Cavalier a number of years ago......about 5 months after it happened I started getting calls about it.

Sorry to hear about your accident. What was the other guy doing?

Most car wrecks shouldn't be called "accidents", because they are mostly caused by negligence. Its always someone not taking driving seriously enough. There's always some sort of distraction involved. Just because you didn't mean for something to happen, doesn't make it an accident.

Driving needs to be taken more seriously. In fact, my wife used to get mad at me for not talking to her more while driving. Not that I do not enjoy talking to my wife ( at times ), but I am busy trying to monitor and predict what everyone else is going to do.

If your car gets totalled, is there a way to scavenge some parts before you part with it? Items like: Engine cover, tire fix stuff ( jack, compressor ), floor mats, door sills, etc etc.

Good Luck.

Very sorry to see that but as everyone has said, glad your OK. As painful as it is, you can get another Crossfire but body parts are tough to come by.

Glad your ok !
Over 30 years ago I was hit broadside by a redlight runner, I woke up in hospital, I was ok just a few stitches and went home. This taught me to always be alert thru intersections ! It's better not to be dead right ! A few years later my mother was killed in a Karmann Ghia in Dallas area, her own fault and the Ghia slid into on coming lane.
Drive careful and enjoy the rest of your life everyday !

wow, that sucks, Im sorry. I was driving down a relatively major road, with a bunch of side streets with stop signs. . Didnt see him until it was too late. My car is a body shop now waiting for an insurance rep to see it (probably monday) but they said its about 8k in damages.
