Default What to use to secure something to the dashboard without permanently damaging it?

My fiance LOVES her yellow roadster. It's her "sunshine" car. LOL! My brother went to Hawaii recently and bought us one of those dashboard hula girls. She really wants to put it in her car, but I don't want to damage the surfaces. Anybody have suggestions of methods to secure something but not leave a residue I can't get off? Is there a velcro out there that isn't permanent, but will withstand cold MI winters and brutally hot & humid summers without falling off?

Use a "sticky pad" from office depot. Thats what I use to hold my radar detector in place. No residue at all.

Is it just one of those rubber high friction pads that people use to hold coffee cups & palm pilots in place? Or is it actually like tape sticky?

Who makes it? 3M? Is it actually called "sticky pad"? What section is it in?

the lack of remaining residue on the dash after removal may be solved using a quality 3m product...

but my concern would be the sun fade after removal... no cure for that potential problem.
