How offen do you change/clean the air filter? I think I read somewhere it need to be changed at 50,000 miles, which sounds a little too long, but it make sence since we got 2 filters (doubling the time interval?)

 

I thought it was every time you see 2 wrenches in the FSS

 

when their dirty, maybe 12,000 miles depends on driving conditions,
dirt roads ect, some folks say every other oil change

 

Change 'em when they're dirty. Check them at every oil change.

I'm at 16k on stock filters, and they have yet to need to be replaced. Though, I just got a free $50 amazon gift card so I have a feeling I will have some K&N's coming in soon.

 

Pick up a pair of K&N's like Khanable mentions above. They last for 100K & you can clean them anytime you think they're starting to look too disgusting. Just be careful re-oiling them though. Too much liberty with the re-oil & you'll screw-up the air sensors.
