Re: How to transfer warranty?
oh my apologies... i am not sure about the 7/70 powertrain it may be different from the lifetime powertrain. if you do have bumper to bumper left i know that can be transferred... but i'm not sure about the powertrain id say just make a trip to the local dealer and ask. the worst they can do is say no.

Re: How to transfer warranty?
There is a $150.00 to $250.00 charge to transfer the 3/36 (if applicable) & 7/70 and must be done at a dealership. Make sure that the seller is the original owner....warranties can only be transferred once. use the link below they may be able to steer you in the right direction.

So if I am the 3rd or later owner, the car is without warranty? Can you tell anything from the VIN? 1C3AN69LX4X002989
Thanks

Below is a cut-and-paste of info I offered in another post a while back:
The answer to this question depends on the date of manufacture of the vehicle. This date can be found on the driver side door jamb. If the 2004 Crossfire was built before 10/1/2003, the 7/70 transfers automatically to any subsequent owners without any additional paperwork or fees. There is a $100 deductible for covered repairs though. If the car was built on or after 10/1/2003, the powertrain warranty is transferable only to the 2nd owner (not to third or subsequent owners) and the transfer has to be made in writing by a Chrysler dealer within 30 days of the date of your purchase. There would also be a $150 transfer fee you would have to pay. There are a few other limitations or restrictions so the best thing to do is read the warranty booklet that came with the vehicle, provided it's there.
On Chrysler's website they have a pdf of the warranty coverage you can download. However, there were two distinct warranty coverages as explained above, but Chrysler only has the latter manual on their site.
I hope this helps.
Re: How to transfer warranty?
7/70 warranty is ONLY valid for the first owner and the second owner of the car. If you are the third owner, Sorry about that. (you can call the service department of any chrysler dealer to check if you are the second owner or not on thair file, or going through other parties such as Carfax)
For the second owner, you need to pay $150 to transfer the warranty. You can do it at the chrysler dealer. But regarding the $150 fee, someone says it is more, some says less. But in the warranty manual, it says $150.

Re: How to transfer warranty?
I transferred the warranty on my 04 Crossfire when I bought it in December. It was $150. However, and I am quite sure about this, it is only transferrable to the second owner. If you're the 3rd owner, you're out of luck with the 7/70, but there are other warranty possibilities out there, albeit more pricey.
