Default 29 Mpg???

I got a pleasant surprise on my first roadtrip in the X-Fire this past weekend...29.4 mpg for the the trip from Middletown, CT to Cortland, NY and back. I wasn't ******* the speed too much either, although there was a big NYS State Police presence on Route 17 Sunday afternoon.

I didn't expect this number and it made paying $4.15 per gallon for premium unleaded in upstate NY slightly easier to take. Tonight the 11pm local news is posing the question: "$5.00/gallon gas, if, or when?" Yikes

Perma-grin still plastered to my face with this car!

Two weeks ago on the St Louis Metro group meet I went 205 miles and got 24.3 on ,my ltd roadster with manual. Most of the time my right foot was on the brake or the gas and always to the floor. Triple digits, a LOT! Shark065 will tell you different but it was all he could do to keep up.

Driving hard most of the time my 4,000 mile average is 27.5. I'm using 91 octane (currentlyat $3.89 a gal) most of the time.

My heart rate hasn't been normal since I bought the car last February.

Hehe---triple digits, a lot??? How do you check out all the admiring glances coming your way at those speeds---wait, I managed that one too. Just kidding--haven't hit triple digits in mine yet--99.99 once or twice tho. <G>

Iv'e been in your neck of the woods a lot lately. Grandkids in Norwich. We come in I84
NJ; NY' CT' cops are all over the place
Not many places you can get away with triple digits.

It's a little friendlier here in MO.

I've switched from occassionally driving my Crossfire to using it as my daily driver. I was pleasantly surprised that I pulled over 27mpg after my first week of commuting. Did I mention that it's a lot more fun driving to work these days?

I've driven Bloomfield, CT to Rochester, NY a couple times and got 30 mpg... After the TVT Tune I'll be looking forward to trying it again. I can tell the mileage is better - I'd like to see just how much...

For having an SRT6 the miliage is not much worse... I averaged about 26 or so on the highway on the long (1000 mile each way) drive to see my folks for christmas 2006.

I expect if I went for a TVT tune or Code3 tune and a few other goodies it might go up a hair.

I hate when the media projects future gas prices. When they talk about higher prices, the oil companies will make sure we pay it because they figure we are expecting it.

I just went on a 350 mile short trip- Interstate 40 run 70 plus MPH, until I got to Raliegh NC- 20 miles bumper to bumper traffic-

My MPG for this short trip was 29.1, and I wasn't cruising for mileage.

in my 04 limited manual i was doing good to get 24 mpg, since i got the 05 limited manual i consistantly get 29-30 mpg, dont know why, but i did install andrews new decals on the 05, that might be the reason.

Just completed a 780 mile round trip into NM and got 27.7 on the way down and 28.9 on the return.
I averaged right around 80 mph both ways. This is not the first time I have made that trip and the mileage this time was consistant with what I averaged about 4 months ago for the same trip.

Since I started buying gas with no ETOH (1800 miles so far) I've kept exact totals.....25.8 mpg (6 speed) daily driver....hit 90-100 every day on I-70.

I've kept exact mileage since I bought the car and with mostly highway driving rarely get less the 26-27 mpg, even with bursts of highly illegal speed. The best I got was just under 31 on a 150 mile trip where I had to stay at 55-60 because of the two lane roads.

I just installed the K&N and have a 1800 mile round trip planned from MI to CT. I'm curious to see if the extra air flow helps the mileage and if I can keep my foot out of it and the car at 70-75 most of the way.

By comparison, my SRT6 peaks around 23-24. Of course I have the tendency to WOT at least twice each tank of gas. This last one saw a little sprint to 150 which does not help the mpg.

My fully stock Limited manual stick gets around 29 mpg also and I wasn't driving for fuel economy!
I'm just putting in the TVT250 kit and we'll see what happens.
