limited vs not limited?
i never understood one thing... it might be a silly question to ask but is there any difference between crossfire limited and "not limited" and is there even is suck a thing, i was watching a crosfire review online and they said that ltd and reg are two trim levels, but i couldnt work out what the difference is. Does any of u know if there is any or is it just something added to the names of all crossfires to make the owners feel better?
The base only comes in black cpe or roadster, and has no leather seats, no power seats, or heated seat, no autosticks, and some other minor things, best buy for a tracker who might rip out all the above, but a LTD 6 speed is a better buy.
Ooops no fog lights also no 08 base models.

I have a base model and I love it! I don't like leather, and didn't want to deal with more electrical problems than I had too(seat heaters), and this one was just the right price too. I get compliments just the same as the next. So no it's far from horrible.

i have an '07 base model... when i purchased mine i had for sure made up my mind on the crossfire.... but at 6'2" i am at the top edge of the heighth spectrum for the car. in fact, i had to go with the base model because with the power units for the power seats and heating elements the seats were raised up to high and i could not comfortably fit in there. so i went with the base model and haven't looked back since. i really dont need power seats because i am the only one who drives it therefore the seats never move, and i don't need seat warmers because i live in texas... its hot here in case you didnt know. so for me, personally, the base model is 100times better than the ltd.
p.s. not a fan of the silver window trim, so another plus.
I can have my base cloth seats re-done in custom leather for about 500-600$ as apposed to paying the xtra for the heated factory leather seats.
And the silver trim on the ltd's in my opinion is tacky. Looks like a picture frame around the windshield. And the foglights, well, they are more for looks if anything.
It just gives you the basic aesthetics if you like those that the LTD's give you.
I would rather spend less on the car and spend more making worth while upgrades, such as a new ecu, suspension, etc.
just my 2 little pennies

There's a trade-off to everything, and it's up to you to prioritize which trade-offs you want to make. I don't see a problem with going with either Base or LTD, it all depends on your priorities.
I have a 2007 Base Model.
As with the others, we prefer the cloth seats. We don't have to worry about seat heaters. Also like the wheels better than the limited. It did come with the autostick as opposed to a previous post. Probably the only things we would have liked to have are the fog (bling) lights and the garage door opener function. Solved the last one by buying another opener clicker from Lowes for
$29.95.

ummm.....no they didn't. there were not autostick base models... thats why they call it a base model only a 6spd. no offense meant by this....im just saying, i have NEVER heard of a base model with an autostick....EVER.
Base Xfires are 5 grand cheaper MSRP, lighter, come with black exterior trim and fewer frills.
They generally make a better starting block for anybody who modifies cars or prefers a monotone blackout look over plastic bling and sub-par options (like broken cup holders, butt igniters, blind navigation, or a higher number of craptastic stock speakers).
That's how I saw it when I had the choice anyway.

Just to clear something up, i didnt mean to offend any one with a base model, i said that it would be horrible because i didnt see/know of any1 with one on this website and though that maybe they just arent as common/popular among XF fans but as it appears quite a few people have them and i can see the arguments behind buying one that i didnt think of when i said that it would be horrible to have one. So lets stop arguing about this since i dont want to stard any fueds in my first week on this forum.
So again sorry if i "hurt" someones feeling, and yeah maybe i should have thought it through before posing such a comment.
