Default crossfire keeps dying

2004 Crossfire n/a keeps dying!! it will run for anywhere from 5-15 minutes then die and i have to wait for like 5 minutes to try starting it. it acts like there is no spark, it just cranks over! help please! last week it wouldnt start at all and we thought it was the FFS so we reset it, then it started right up. So then we just changed the oil and put 8qt. in. Now when im driving down the road it will just die, or even at idle it will die. Sometimes it wont even die though it will run fine for long periods of time. Confused!

I think the car is confused, meaning ecu is giving you fault readings...go to a CarMax or whatever car parts dealers you have around there and see if they can read the faults. That could help you sort it out, cause it could be a lot of things...so many sensors...Doc

yeah .. might need to.. the check engine light was on and after driving for a while it shuts off.. then when it dies it turns on after it gets running. my dad has 16 years mechanics experience and he says the check engine light could be related to the fact that when it doesnt fire the fuel pump still runs so there is an excess of fuel? could that be the reason for the light or wouldnt it stay on if there is a faulty sensor?

It will stay if there is a fault anywhere, like I said, it could be anything...need to read the faults 1st...Dad is prolly like me, we worked on the old stuff, now its computers and sensors, they tell the story...

yeah.. do you have any idea why the check engine light shuts off and only turns on when it doesnt want to fire? it seems also that it only does it when it hasnt been ran for a few hours...when it gets warmed up it doesnt do it. thats the way it seems not saying its for sure, only been dealing with it for 3 days
