That's awesome. I wonder if my mechanic knows about it. (I bet he does, but I'm going to mention it next time I go in.

A word of caution...
Don't operate your automatic garage door opener while the car is backed in the garage with the hood opened 90 degree.
You might not like the outcome.
I nearly had a heart attack when I realized that the garage door came within inches of my open hood after installing my Needswings intake and hitting the door opener as I went in the house to get my camera.
I got lucky that day.

So it's not just me!
Cool thing about the hood!
Wow! Learned two things today. The hood thingy and the fact that you can hold the shift lever to the left and the car downshifts for you so you don't have to toggle the lever.

This site is amazing!

I found the hood trick myself from previous Benz experience. I drive a Toyota Corolla as my daily driver, adn every time I get back into the Crossfire I start signaling with the Cruise lever...

The Magnum/300/Charger/Challenger are set up the same way... One of the few things about the car that still annoy me.

Opening at 90 degrees - nothing. I used to drive a Skoda Estelle - and it’s hood (albeit the boot as the engine was at the back) opens like this:

That’s 90 degrees - to the car!

You gotta get the other manual (Factory Service):

(from two sections - one describing the feature and another that shows better where the "button" is located on the prop)

The Factory Service Manual for many products is where some of the best features of products are hidden away. I try to get them for most major electronic and mechanical devices I purchase.

Also sometimes you pick up some nomenclature that is interesting - like the fact that the coupe is internally known as the "ZH-29". Start telling people that's what you're driving and get the look...

Cool info, thanks for sharing! I'll try it out this weekend when I hopefully will have some time to play around with the car.

I agree......

That's a clear and blatant violation of the "man law"!

We'll send over the proper authorities to revoke your card.

Ok, you get an exception to the reading rule.
Look at post #30 (it's above).

Read the instructions on "CLOSING". Pictures are provided if needed.

Clearly, even with the manual open to the correct page we have here someone who strictly observes the "man-law"...

I, on the other hand go way in the other direction and have actually been known to write the manual... I wonder what that means?

It's 1:20 in the AM and I just went out and tried to get the hood to open to 90º and couldn't get it to work. Maybe my fingers just aren't strong enough.

Agree with the folks about the turn signal/cruise control switches. I've often went to signal a lange change and slowed down instead. Annoying and slightly dangerous.

The button is much easier to push if you lift the hood a little to releive the pressure on the gas strut and mechanism.
