Recently I brought my roadster in beacause i was having some alarm issues...alarm going off randomly....siren very quiet and scrachy sounding..ect. Anyway they said that they fixed the latch on the glove box and replaced the siren. The weird thing is when I picked the car up everything is good but now when i unlock the car i get one beep (not the horn its like the tone that goes off if you dont put your seatbelt on) and three beeps when i lock it. Has anyone heard of this? I like this feature a lot but was just curious.

 

Can't say I've heard either with both of my Xfires. Hmmmm........

 

That is what it is supposed to do with the new siren/alarm. I too like it a lot as it is not intrusive at all like a horn honking on arm/disarm.

 

There's a thread around here somewhere discussing upgrading to this alarm/siren if you want to add the audible confirmation to your locking/unlocking. Looks as though this is what your dealer installed.
