Porsche Cayman and my XF
A friend of mine who leases a Porsche Cayman drove my XF and declared that the XF handles almost like his car. He even liked the speed charecterstics.
Was he just kidding me? I really dont know. But I could see a hint of envy in his eyes.
I love my baby. I am sure it is the best value and a solid, well put together car.
What do you think?

I believe it. A lot of my friends are really impressed when they drive my car too. It's funny how quickly they change their views about our cars once they get to drive one. Most of them just think it's just another Chrysler product not knowing about the whole Mercedes thing.

My brother just bought a 2008 porsche boxster, I know that the cayman is a faster car but the boxster handels a little better. That boxster can get up and go so much faster than my crossfire, so I could imagine about the cayman!
But there is one thing the crossfire can do better than the porsche and thats turn heads! After my brother bought his porsche he said he should have got a crossfire because all the compliments and head turns i get in my car! hahaha I love my crossfire, but porsche makes a very slick car!
I love my car and wouldnt trade it for anything else, but I do enjoy driving my brothers boxster every once in awhile! hahaha
When I moved to the USA in May of '07 I almost bought a Cayman-- then I thought to myself, "Self, " I thought out loud, "just what can I get for $75k?" Answer: a new Subaru Outback, a 1963 Morgan +4, AND an '04 Crossfire Ltd. Total cost for the three cars: $74k.
Yeah, the Porsche is a damn good car, but not that good. Not for the money.

The Cayman is one of my favorite cars. If money were no object I would be driving one right now. They're both big time head turners and quality vehicles. But:
Cayman = $50,000. +
Crossfire = $21,000.
Save $29,000.
You could buy a Crossfire coupe and roadster new and use the other $5,000 to pump up your 401k.
You could also be like Warren Buffet and buy neither one and pump up your investments $50,000. but we all know that's not an option for us car enthusiasts.
If you think that the Crossfire is expensive to maintain the Porsche is even more so.
Crossfire = close enough.

When I was buying my srt I drove the boxste, S2000, 350z and the crossfire. When I did the ben franklin close on myself the crossfire was the better car for me due to these reasons:
1. Driver size- I didn't feel comfortable in the S2000 and the boxster - they felt small
2. Proformance per dollar - crossfire hands down winner.
3. Appearance - I liked the looks of the S2000 and the z but there were a lot of them on the street around here. I'v had a couple of porches in my time (911, 826, 844 turbo) and the handling is great but have to have to like the look. My wife thinks that they look like bathtubs but she alos thinks I'm an immature idiot when ti comes to cars and motorcyles, especially when I have "I can't drive 55" blaring on the cd when she's in the car.

Looked at both the Cayman and the boxer before I went for the Crossfire. Have never been a fan of of Porsche interiors, feel tight and cramped; and sppear to be too plastic. I know you are buying the car for the engineering - but!
so Decided on the Crossfire, no regrets - it's a blast to drive and I just have a Limited roasdster -

I live in a small town in Australia of about 80 thousand people. I can safely say thatI am one of two people with a crossfire, the other is a roadster, black, so i am hands down the winner.
aside from that, there a few porsches and merc and bmw's. the ussual.
everywhere i go, people stare at the car, i come out of the shops and people are standing around looking in the mirrrors. People trying to drag me at every lights. i am not joking people stop in mid conversation and stare at the car as it drives past.
of course. i love this.
. it is why i bought the car and modded it. first the exhaust. because i wanted to be orginal.
not too mny crossfires in australia, and even less where i am living. it turns more heads than a porsche, merc, bmw...because no one has ever even seen one. even the chrysler dealer here does not have one on show!
plus you can hear my car coming a mile away.

But I have a family to support (and spend time with) so stuff like that isn't happening (yet...)
Jackel,
That is too cool for school! I always thought the back looked Porsche like, but to see the blend, blows me away....
Great job!
