Default what kind of comments do young crossfire owners get? (highschool/college aged)

I am 19 and I always have people asking me how I have a crossfire.

The common comments:

where do you work?33
you must make a lot of money
how you make so much money at that young age?
you must be extremely successful
how you driving a crossfire?
etc
etc
etc

It feels good lol

Is it bad that I don't tell them what I paid for it? I will just keep letting them think I am driving a 30-50k sports car.

The Crossfire is nice, but an Aston Martin, whether it be DB7, Vanquish, or the MKIII; these cars aren't even in the same league...

I am not going to argue with that but i live in a small town where a v6 mustang is the hottest thing going so people truly do not know the difference.. if i do not tell them they think it is a 100+ksports car

When I go on "roadtrips" and I have to stop for gas in small towns at like mom and pop gas stations it feels like I am a celebrity or something... I feel like everyone's eyes are on me lol.

What would they do if I had a lamborghini?

My 18-year-old son drives my coupe to school and school functions sometimes. It's a small rural high school and they all call him the "rich kid." He loves the attention the car gets him.

I get all sorts of comments, most people just ask what I do for a living. They wonder how a kid less than a year out of college can afford a 50K+ sports car.... Good thing it doesn't cost that much. THough now that I think about it, I do make more than most recent college graduates and could probably afford a 335 or something like that, but nah. I enjoy my extra cash in pocket, savings is a good thing.

Some other fun comments:

"What's that thing top out at?"

"How can you afford that car?"

"Why in the world did you buy that?" or "...did you buy a Chrysler?"

it never ends...though nowadays the comments are almost all good, less questions.

I'm 21 and I alway park up front at work. I alway get asked if it was my car. And how can you have that car working here? I always tell them that I deal drugs on the side. Funny enough another xfire owner came into my work and one of my co-workers asked him where he works and he replied, "I deal drugs."

I wonder what the optimum age is where you get no comments. Too young = Daddy's car huh? How do you reach the pedals? Too old = Midlife crisis huh, how far can you go before you have to pee?

+1. Being in L.A., I've had people scoff at a "lowly Chrysler", and I've had others ask if it's a Bentley (they were pointing at the Chrysler logo). But definitely pump n' dump while they're trying to figure out how much the car is worth.

I'm 20 and I get a lot of the same ****;

-what do you do?
-how can you afford this?
-how much did it cost?
-what is it?

I'm always honest with people. I'll tell them the sticker price, and the price that I actually got it for, and where they can go to find one if they should be interested.

The car does get a lot of attention from girls, though. A lot of 'will you take me for a ride?' and the like.

I avoid chicks like that.

Comments will always range, some people just never liked the crossfire from the start. 95% of comments are along the lines of 'beautiful car', 'nice car', etc. I've had one guy flat out call me gay for driving a crossfire as he walked past me in the parking lot.

Followed him and his prelude to the highway and absolutely ruined his day by ripping past him.

I was having trouble with the first statement until I read the second.

Why would you avoid them at your age?

I hang with classy chicks, man. I don't bother with the gold-digging-sleep-with-anything-that-moves types. Where is the fun in that? It's like fishing with dynamite. No fun.

The one question that I always get asked, especially within my circle of friends, is :

"Why did you settle for that car as a weekend car?"

My response has been :

"Because there's not a lot of them around town."

But then again I am not young either.. just young at heart..
