You would also think Chrysler would have all of the information about production and sales. I guess you just have to know where to go to get the info. It is hard to believe Chrysler would contract to have them built, shipped and sold without having any idea what was going on (maybe not! )???

These type of numbers fascinate me.

Mine is a 2008 and is #74915 with the driver's door plate reading 10/07.

I have also been trying to get some information and as far as I have learned the number over 76k is about right. There were close to 3k SRT6's manufactured but I have been unable to get a breakdown on colors, or how many came to the U.S. They were all 2005's, with just 12 in 2006 but they were all Factory demos and specials. After 2005 they were special order only and I personally have not encountered one from any other year.

Thanks JEFASOLD for the quick reply. Perhaps we can get additional updated responses from others re: the numbers. I especially want to know about the numbers of 2005 Roadster Limited models made (number could include base models) so that I can get a car show sign made that says my car is "1 of ? produced".

I have another idea on finding the #s of cars, colors, etc. that I will explore today. If I come up with anything, I will post them. Hope you don't mind if I borrow your idea about the car show sign, I doubt that we will be in any of the same shows. LOL

Interesting stuff. While we have the figues at 76k cars produced, according to Wilhelm Karmann, their production stands at 37,896 coupes produced from 2003 to 2008 and 16,269 roadsters. What I was told was the serial #s may not necessarily be consecutive. Due to AMG involvement with the engines and stopping production short of intended run, then restarting production may have resulted in missing serial#s. I'm still working on it. Also, the Karmann Ghia was a Chrysler design that Chrysler decided not to build, so Karmann adapted it to the VW chassis. FYI

If you click on the attached link, it will take you to the latest listing of VIN#'s for the SRT6 models for 2005 and 2006. The 2006 SRT6 models are well beyond your 12 estimate, with it resting at 56 as of this posting. All of the numbers were found by forum members providing their number or at various sites such as Ebay, Cars.com, Autotrader, CarGuru, etc. This list was started by a forum member, SRTSIX, RPM, CriossfireFun and myself over the past 6 years. It has taken time to accumulate the current list, without the help of Chrysler or Karmann!

This is all contrary to what we have learned from other sources.
One minute you say 76,000 is about right and then give figures with 20,000 or so missing.
The Ghia info is also not quite as accepted.
Can we have more specifics?

You are rght about the Ghia, my first info came from a Chrysler site and is not true, it was designed by a friend of Mr. Karmann (the original). The 2006 SRT6's were 2005 ' sold as 2006. All our sources have stated 76k or more for the Xfire but the Karmann site says the numbers I quoted, they actually list the totals for every car that the factory has produced. I am trying to get a ph # for the factory and will call if possible. I am sorry about any misinfo and will be more careful about double checking and confirming things before posting in the future. I always look for your posts on here, lots of chuckles and very useful info.

The numbers that you list are on the Wiki site, I cannot find a Karmann site that gives production numbers. VW basically controls Karmann these days, I doubt they care a rats a$$ about the Crossfire.

All of this number info really is fascinating. My VIN 075820. 2008 Bright Silver Metallic Roadster. Just now approaching 13,000 miles. Purchased in June of 2010, with close to 5,600 miles then owned by a 'corporate' entity.

Wilma is #76028 & she was built the last week of production.......which ended 12/17/2007. Pretty sure last # was 76048 or 76049.

08 Bright Silver / auto / nav.........@18,000 miles.

Wilma was built on 12/10/2007......since her # was 76028.......& production ended 12/17/2007......no way they built 4000 more in that last week.......20 more is about right.

Fred was built in March of 07 & was called an 07.....his number is 72575.....that means about 3500 were built between 3/07 & 12/07 ...= about 300 / month & I'm sure the line was slowing down at the end at Karmen.

Best guess is about 50,000 were brought into the United States 04s thru 08s. Also guessing a couple of thousand have been totaled already.

Still looking for 2005 production numbers for my Roadster to put on a car show display sign. Looks like I will just make up a number, i.e."1 of ?? 2005 XF's built"
