Default Crossfire on Nurburgring

We'll I thought I'd share my vids of me on the Ring. It was my first time there and it was my second run on it. Before anyone starts taking trash remember this was only the second time I was on it and was not pushing it at all, just having fun. I'm pretty sure I was the slowest car out there, but was still fast enough to scare my Dad and make him forget he was taping it, lol. I did forget to turn the traction control off and I thought I broke my car on the Karussel, I almost came to a stop on it, its the beginning of the second clip. They are pretty good quality, but bad camera work, so if you click on the high res version it will look pretty good. I still have 2 more laps on my ticket so I might make a new one and maybe it will be under 10 mins so I can put it on one clip, lol. I'm pretty sure I can do it after watching the vid and I'm guessing if I didn't do all the slowing down for the cars and the TC in the Karussel and pickup some more speed on the back straight. The track isn't really a track, its more like the scariest roller coaster you have ever road but you are in control of how fast and scary it is. Well enjoy.

Great stuff SRT! Great to see another Crossfire has made it to the 'Ring. Its a magical place for petrol heads isn't it? Like you say - one big rollercoaster Don't worry about any critics, everyone can do a 8 minute lap in their armchair

It is like the ultimate car club there. It isn't like any video game, if it was I would have been way faster. One funniest things I have ever seen was I parked all by my self because I didn't was to door ding a Ferrari or Porsche, lol. When I got back what was on both sides of me? A Ferrari on the left and a Porsche on the right, with 4 guys looking at my car!!! LOL!!

Great video, I have a friend (who lives in Germany) and he says he can't wait until he gets me on the Nurburgring.
Unfortunately, this is probably as close to Nurburgring as I'll ever get.

I felt like a backseat driver the whole time...

Get in it! Get out of it! Why'd you let that guy pass?! Keep your foot in it! Stop coasting! Throw it sideways! Dog that Porsche! Dog That VW!

But of course there's no way to tell how fast you were going, what the pavement is like, no way to "feel" what's going on - so of course I can sit here and be a web-racer!

It looks like it would be a blast. I have to remember if I ever go to rent a GTi and go thrash it!

Thanks for the video!

Next time, go in to the corners harder and use the brakes later! ZoOM! ZOom!

I really wasn't going all that slow, there was a lot of fast people out there that day. I went during the week and almost everyone that was there had season passes, but by no means was I going as fast as the car could go, that will take awhile. I have to learn the track and the only way to do that is driving it, and watching the videos I take. Lap times will come down but that isn't what that track is about, it's more about pushing yourself as far as you can with out crashing and having the time of your life. Once you start worrying about lap times and thinking you are better than the track, that's when things go wrong. If anyone go there to drive please remember have fun, push you're car only in the parts you know, do not worry about how fast you are going to lap it, there are no do overs on this track. If you mess up here you will be in the wall, and saying you are alright ,you will still have to pay to fix the wall you hit.

That is absolutely the attitude to take, that place needs the ultimate respect. You can't just hit 'reset' and have another go The surface can be very variable too, it can be dry on your first lap then when you wet get there on the next, and you never know what's around the corner, even when you have learnt the track. You can tell the most dangerous places though - its where all the photographers stand

If you have an XBOX360 and PGR racing you'll at least be able to learn the track better. Xbox has an option to select an SRT6. Here's my game set up in my basement and my wreck at the ring.

I noticed the same turn caught you off guard, too. (But, I'd be afraid to take my real car on the track)
