Default Michelin Symphony Wiper Blades (Identical to Bosch Icons) 20% off + free shipping

To all forum members who, like me, were waiting on upgrading to the newer tech wiper blades that Bosch came out with a few years back, check this out. I was hesitant to purchase the Bosch Icon blades because I never could bring myself to shell out $45 (tax included) for wipers (I am a college student after all).

Well I'm glad I waited.

Michelin has a spin-off wiper design called the Symphony (see picture below) and are having a sale. It is %20 off the wiper price plus free shipping. I made the purchase several weeks ago and have been testing out the blades. They are great! No streaks and very streamlined in appearance.

I made the purchase before 12pm and the blades came in 2 days later.

Use coupon: WIPER at checkout.

My subtotal was $ 38.98 before the discount
Less Coupon WIPER (7.80)
Subtotal 31.18

I'd say you'd save close to $13-$15 when you factor in what shipping would have cost.

I wanted to let forum members know about the deal.

I had the michelins and ended up trading them out for the bosch icon's because they didn't work well on my window...put them on my father's cadillac srx and they worked great!

Sure no wiper is perfect, but compare them to a lower end model and I bet they are better. I a trico teflon blades that I purchased last November. They worked decent for a about a month and then descended into a streaky smear. Wiper blades should last much longer than nine months. Plus I love the look of the new blades.

Went to check it out, as I need an upgrade over whatever crappy blades are on mine currently. Link is dead though

danimal thanks for the correction. I also edited in my post. With heavy rains expected for the Northern Virginia area over the next three days, I am looking forward to giving these wipers a pounding.

Please let me know how they perform. If they do well I'll definitely be ordering a pair. They have a nice look to them.

I've had them for over a year - you can get them at Wal-Mart - great blades - no problems. Do a search and they have been discussed before.

I've had the Michelin Optimum wipers on since Feb 2008 and they still clean the windshield like the day I put them on. I've clocked almost 15K miles, quite a bit in rain so I think that says a lot about the wipers. The factory ones were toast after 5K miles.

If these are the ones I've seen at Walmart, they're $14.98/each.

"Michelin Optimum", "$14.98 at Wal-Mart"

Went with the 20 + 22 in., and no whacking the top problem? Or did you go with the 19 + 21 in. versions? Thanks -- I need to pick up some. My first try with the Anco 11-?? refills won't fit the factory blades.

Good wiper or not, it's all in the usage. I have used the Michellin but they lasted about a month before the"edges" got dull and started leaving streaks. Here's why for me: I park my car under an Interstate freeway when I go to work. This is a paid parking garage we use. This means tons of dirt gets sprayed below. I only realized this in the past year or so, never quite making the connection between poor wiper performance with it. All the dirt that gets deposited between the blades and windshield become irritants -- sort of like sandpaper. Eventually, the blades lose their edges and streaks appear. Now, before I drive off the parking lot every evening, I lift the blades and blow off the dirt and dust well. My guess is that the same mechanics are at work for all blades. So clean the windshields often and take the deposited dirt off the contact area between the blades and windshield.

Went to WM (again ...) and picked up the base Michelin wiper blades (20 + 22; $7 each). They also had M. "Radial", but not the one above.

Found that the blades (=frames) were of two different types on my XF, so now don't mind replacing them (wanted to keep the originals, but one or both are long gone).

The wiper arms are of the larger 3/4 in. variety (and not the smaller, more common 1/2 in.), so the new wipers don't snap on so well even though the instructions say no-problemo.

Do a search on the forum for Valeo blades. I bought a pair a month ago and they look very nice. Can't say how they work in rain since I seldom drive my XFs in bad weather, but they clean the windshield nicely when I run the washers.

Also know as "Optimum" (Wal*Mart) and something else at Target. Now the Michelin site refers to them simply as single beam blades...
