Default Wing and Ice

Crazy as it sounds, my son will probably drive th 2007 over the winter. I have full veto power in bad -- read snowy and icey weather -- but if it's just cold he can drive it.

My concern is ice or crusty snow build up on the wing. What happens if it tries to deploy when it is covered by ice or a couple inches of snow? Will it damage the wing or does it have an override that prevents it from breaking if it encounters resistance to going up?

Yes - the workaround is just to leave it deployed, but stuff happens and I don't want to risk unnecessary damage. And a better workaround is to garage it. But he loves the car and plans to go to college in Florida, so why not a Crossfire.

Just pull the fuse in the winter. No muss, no fuss.

Kit Fox, Up or down, it doesn't matter.

MikeR, he may want to come home for XMAS.

Just clean it off with your snowbrush. I had no problems all winter.

He is a senior in Michigan. We get snow almost every day and while the plows are quick, I was worried about it melting and freezing around the wing.

I like the idea of pulling the fuse so the wing stays down. I assume the fuse is ONLY for the wing?

Well, the headlights too, but that way it keeps em off the road at night.

Just kidding GW, it's just for the wing.
It's in the fuse box directly in front of the driver.
Fuse # 20, 2nd. from the top in the upper left hand corner of the fuse box.
(if you're facing the windshield)
