Hey guys ( gals),

My car keeps dying when it's been sitting for 24 hours plus. I've jumped it 3 times now. Most recently it had not happened in about a week, until it happened again this morning. Are these cars prone to alternator failure? is it maybe just a bad battery?

 

Don't start replacing parts without a diagnosis. Maybe it's just a dead battery. Take it to almost any parts store and they will test it for you - they put a load on it and check to see if it will hold a charge.

 

Take it to any battery/tire store and have them check the alternator for output It's an easy check. If it's ok have them check the battery, it may have a dead cell and if the battery is 3 years old or older replace it. If it still dies after sitting 24 hours, there's a drain on the battery coming from somewhere. Good Luck
