Default Mystery of the blinking tow light!! Ever happened to you?

This was a 1st for me. My 06 coupe usually sits 2-3 days between use. This morn. when I got in I noticed the red tow light blinking in the dash tow btn. center. It's in my locked att. garage as always. Hadn't had the hood up or hatch up for any reason that might have caused some elec. reason for it's coming on, I just shut the door a few days before & didn't touch the car til today. It wouldn't go out by pushing the tow btn, only when I turned the key to on it cancelled & hasn't shown up since. Am I missing something from the owners manual or has anyone had this happen with no apparent reason? I know electricity will take the least path of resistance, but I don't even arm the alarm that could have caused some flow of current when I close the cars door in my garage. I don't have my interior lights set to be on with the door opening so ???

You are correc that it probably has something to do with the alarm. It blinks when the car is locked and armed. Its weird that it was blinking if you do not arm the car, but it makes sense that it went off when you turned the key. if if doesn't happen again I wouldn't worry about it.
