Garage Remote Button Light ?
Whoever designed the remote garage door buttons should be shot
I mean I love the fact that we actually have a three button remote built into the car, it's very cool, but I find when I get home and it's dark I'm fumbling around feeling for the buttons and it all feels the same until by some stroke of luck I finally finger the button
IF ONLY I COULD SEE THE &$# DAMN THING
This rates right up there with the marvelous cup holder design (it's easy to see the 11% that was designed by Chrysler vs the 89% designed by Benz).
Anyone ever try to illuminate the buttons with an LED or anything ?
Apologies for the rant

I have been a auto tech for several years and yet to see a illumunated switch for the garage door opener switch or the buttons. The only light I've seen is the light that glows when button is pressed, although I do agree, it would be nice to see it at night, even a dim led would be helpfull, maybe you could wire in a led light at the housing, to light up that area, but that might distract you at night, if its to bright, just a thought???
I would think it would be "log" easy. There is plenty of options for 12V in that area-I even hard wired my radar detector into the HomeLink 12V switched.
The Chrysler 300 we have has the three buttons illuminated, so there must be more out there. Program all the buttons to work the door if you have only one garage door. I must admit it is a pain though.

Some on this forum might get the wrong idea.
Thanks a bunch though-I really appreciate it!

I use all three of them one for each door and never have a problem... I reach up and run my fingers across till I get to the one I need.
I feel a light, even if dim, would be distracting.

The buttons are hard to see under any conditions. That is probably by design. Lots of people don't lock their cars or the door between the inside of the garage and the living quarters of the house.
Using the car garage opener a thief would have an easy time popping the garage door and helping themself to the contents of the house if the garage door open button was easy to find... Of course it doesn't work without the keys so that's another security step.
Personally I am happy the buttons are hard to see and find without practice. It's a security measure. Still, I lock the cars, lock the door into the house, have an alarm on the garage door and elsewhere. And the animal that sleeps in the garage usually goes to bed hungry.
to program the remote to the garage motor follow the instructions for adding another remote for your garage opener you have to program cars remote as if you were adding another remote to the garage you will have to do it quikly though, hope this helps
I have the same issue with this button. I ended up putting a small glow in the dark sticker on it, bought it at walmart in the toy section Glow stars for my daughters room. its the perfect size as the button and has stuck for 8 months. True that some times its just impossible to see when its dark out and no lights around.
I've never had a problem with this. I just run my fingers across the buttons till I find the one I need and press it. I can't see how this is an issue, IMO. I also think that if a light was up there it would be very distracting.
BUT if it bothers you that much, just keep your garage remote in the car or if that isn't possible buy another remote and keep that one in your car. That way you know exactly what button to press.

In pondering that question, a random thought struck me ... how many garage doors do you suppose my remote would open ??? ... that almost make me want to cruise around pressing my remote button and watching what happens ... not that I would ever do so
