How many times have you gotten stuck this winter?
Now I know I'm gonna get some of the guys that keep their xfires in storage all winter, but for all of you that actually drive yours during the winter, and where there's snow, how many times have you gotten stuck in snow?
Last year, despite the ice storms that left a good 2-3 inches of ice on my crossfire and the road, and a few snow falls, I never got stuck. This was with the original A/S Conti's on too.
This year, with the ridiculous artic/blizzard weather in Chicago, I've gotten stuck 3 times in one week. Sometimes the rear tires are actually getting traction on pavement too. How do I know? because my tires are spinning, I see smoke, and I smell burning rubber. Had to get a tow truck to winch me out the first time (stopped on the side of a highway to help someone who went off the highway completely), and had to break out the shovels the next 2 times. Bottomed out the car getting out on the 2nd time because the snow had frozen to a point where I would have needed a pick axe to get thru the ice, so I decided to shape it as much like a small speed bump as possible. Well, I slid in the process and got stuck on a higher part that I didn't shovel, so I had to shovel under the car. Either way, I'm sure I need an alignment now.
Anyone else had trouble this winter, or is just me (or maybe my new tires- A/S Michelin Pilot Sports)?

Been through it with Blizzaks and summer KDW's...for as much as I roll I will stick to the BFG'S ...I have had to go 20 mph in 50 mph zones to get home...hell the wife was behind me and callin be a ***** on the cell phone cause I was goin slo...of course she was in her 4X4 ford.
Most I been in is 2 inches on top of ice...had to beat the rims on the curbs ta get up a hill once...oh well...buy a new set

Here in Washington state we got loads of snow! I wanna say about a good 5"-10" depending on where your living. I have the Goodyear all seasons on right now, brand new, and it got me home safe. I thought it was pretty funny seeing big trucks stuck on the side of the road while I passed them with the cross. haha you gotta keep a good speed in deep snow, because once you stop your stuck!
Although I really dislike saying it, I did get stuck a few times, in places that you would never expect to be stuck at. Ice ruins the fun of driving in the winter. That's all I got to say..

I don't plan on getting stuck, mine stays in the garage until they clear the roads. If you must drive in snow and have a 6 speed try starting out in 2nd.
I have a feeling I'll be doing a lot of walking this winter.|

2005s in storage. Son driving the 2007 when weather cooperates. He came home from school two weeks ago and pulled into a small (5-6") drift in our slightly uphill driveway. That's all she wrote -- rear wheels spinning. He came in and asked me to drive while he pushed. All I did was back it up and go AROUND the drift, through the 2" of regular snow, and into the garage. Experience over youth every time.
We've had 24" of snow since Friday in west MI and it's still coming down. We're expecting another 6-12" thru Xmas.

I have gotten stuck ZERO times besides in traffic here in Florida!!!
Which brings me to my next point...did you all know that its a common misconception that Florida is a Spanish name? Florida actually derived from an ancient Indian word for "Road Construction".
Anyone been able to take their XFI out onto a frozen lake and run some laps like Geremy did on the Top Gear Winter Olympics?? I sooo want to do that one day.

Zero times...................mine's stuck in the garage and the one day it did actually snow I still couldn't pull her out for some cool pics.
dam it was 10 degrees here the other day , and about every time i would start out , without nailing it it would spin the tires ..it was cold and dry

Last year I bought Yokahama All season tires and this was me during the first snow storm of the year... they absolutely sucked in snow. In fact, when I did finally get home - 5 1/2 hours for a 12 mile trip and towed the last five, I immediately went to Tire Rack and ordered 4 Pirelli snows and wheels. Never had a problem since. This picture was in the Hartford Courant last December... I-91 right in front of the new Science Center...

Glad you got home safe.
Here in St Louis, we haven't had enogh snow to be more than an annoyance. Though, I have had to put the top up.
Winter is hardly over so my tune may change, I drive my Grossfire as a daily driver. It handles better in snow and ice than my Dodge Dually.
So far Stuck Crossfire = 0
Stuck Truck = 2
roadster with a stick
As soon as I saw it was snowing I jumped in the car to go for a ride
with the TC off ofcorse.
I got stuck at red lights were other cars had no trouble, the tires suck in snow lol

I am stuck in the garage now. Because my wife only shoveled her side of the driveway. But I knew when I married her to expect this kind of behavior, she's six feet tall and mean as a snake.
I had to drive mine on ice/sleet mixture a couple of times last week. I couldn't go very fast, and basically only had problems when coming to a complete stop. Then again I am used to my 97 cobra, which had 4:10's, lowered and 295 tires on the back. I'm still getting used to the traction control. But this car definately feels lighter. chris
