My first car has been good to me. However it is time to let her go. I am looking for a new car and came across the Crossfire SRT. It looks pretty good but I am not sure if it can keep up with my stang. It doesnt seem like there is much I can do to it either? Is it possible to up the boost on the supercharger? Are their any suspension upgrades available?

Lets see the best crossfires you got here to help my decision. Feel free to post pictures!

Thanks guys!

Unless you've very heavily modded that Mustang an SRT6 will suck it's headlights out in a straight up drag race and run circles around it in the twisties. The two cars are very, very different rides - Road & Track put the SRT6 up against the Boxster S and Nissan 350Z Nismo and picked the Crossfire as the winner.

Hell, even with my little Limited Roadster 6MT I've kept up with, or caught and passed, some nicely modded Mustangs on a road course. And bang for the buck, nothing even comes close.

Plus you won't see 500 a day like you do the Mustang.

And I happen to like Mustangs - we're considering one for my wife's new car in a couple of months.

If you joined to meet new people, you won't find a better bunch than these guys.

If you're trolling for a challenge, there are a few here who might slow down and let you look.

In any case, Welcome.

Is this a serious question?
If it is: Coming from the mustang world myself, and the 350Z world, this car will run circles around both in the straights and in the twisties. You will be be next to one at every light, and you will get a lot more enjoyment out of it.
If it's not: I believe my rear bumper can answer all those questions

Sorry, no offense, I loved mine for a LONG time, but I can't stand them anymore. Fell in love with German engineering.

you guys are not very hospitable...there are some stangs that will give us a run...of course they have just a little more hp and tire than we do...but I don't think the one in the picture has much of a chance. Nothing personal. But I do have a friend up the road whos Roush S/C'd Mustang I think will be a hand full for me this spring. We shall see. It is far from stock Roush. I also tied into another interesting car just before winter. It was a new Charger, with a built hemi w/ NOS...motor totally reworked...running in the 11's...big car to be doing 11's...so sleepers are out there...you just never know till you take them on...Oh the guy with the charger had 75K in it...what they won't do to go fast.

Yea guys im seriously considering the crossfire. Not looking to race ;] Just scared I might get bored. Coming from a mustang and almost endless modification possibilities I am just hesitant. I really want to see the cream of the crop of crossfires, so please post pictures!

This is a picture i edited to something i might do.

OK Ensit, if you are serious, don't even look at the NA version. Though fairly quick, they haven't modded well, at least not as well as the supercharged SRT.
Stangs are good for push and go fast. That is what you are used to so I doubt you're looking for a nimble sportster for the twisties.

There are plenty of serious mods to increase boost and CAI airflow kits.
Check out the SRT threads.

You'll be stuck with an auto trans but you will learn to like it.

As to bang for the buck, a decent SRT can be had $15K to $20K. This at 330 stock HP.

Add $3K to $5K (pulleys intake and exhaust) and you will be over 400hp on a chassis that weighs less than 3,400 lbs. Get an ECU tune and own the streets.

And FP is right, black is faster.

I think you will find that Crossfires get MANY more looks than another Mustang.

Double that number for a Roadster with the top down.

You may even find that you don't want to modify the car too much.

Either way....good luck. BTW........that is a nice 'Stang.

Very nice mustang....and I'm not a huge mustang fan at all.

Looks like an attempt at a GT500KR look... Which it isn't. The wheels fall far short of GT500 or GT500KR status.

SRT-6. No doubt. No questions. All fun.
