Cool Is There an Attorney In The House? (Crossfire)

Hey I am wondering if any of you legal experts have an opinion on this or a recommended path forward for some of us, I know there are others on the forum.
When I bought my 07 roadster new I got $10,750 off of list. I had found cars for $13K off but the one I got was just manufactured so I took the fresh car. I financed through Chrysler Financial.
Now seeing the $17K off list in the newspapers and the fact Chrysler has abandoned the xFire it seems there should be a way to get a class action suit and get a discount on outstanding loans. I called them and they said no way. Any thoughts? Who is in the same boat?
I have had my car over a year, paid $3K down and can go buy a new one for a lot less than I owe. Looks like we have been dumped on for sure.
I still love the car.

Just imagine what the guy's that paid full original sticker for these cars feel like! $50k for a car that's now worth around $17k or so.

I don't think you need a lawyer. You just need to be happy you have a nice car!

I don't see how this could be a lawsuit . You want to sue them because their product is depreciating in value?

I am going to sue all the manufacturers of all the cars I have ever purchased since they have not increased in value after I drove them for 5 years or so. In fact, I am going to sue you for posting this thread and giving me this idea, that way if I lose I can still get money from you.

Also, I am going to sue tighed1 for posting in this thread before I had a chance to respond first. I am also going to sue myself for being offensive to myself.

My neighbors dog was in my yard last night pooping, I am going to sue his dog but I will need to find out his name first. I think it is spot.

I am going to sue my cat for shredding up my favorite chair and then I am going to sue my lawyer for overcharging me for suing everyone.

Wow, suing is so much fun!

I contacted my lawyer and the lawsuit has been dropped.

BTW, does your club have insurance? I fell yesterday while reading your club thread and I might sue.

You are correct and one of the more silly potential lawsuits at that.

Can I sue this ridiculous thread? I feel minutes of my life have been depreciated.

I have a class action lawsuit against this thread, call me for details. My commercial will be on TV tonight.

Forget about it unless your contract states a provision for giving you some of your money back if they later lowered the price.

The closest anything like that is ever done is when before a purchase is made the seller makes a price guarantee (for example Best Buy offers a 30-day price-match-plus-10% guarantee). At Best Buy, If you can produce a printed ad from a competitor (not internet) with a lower price within 30 days of your purchase - they will refund the difference plust 10% - IF THEY CAN VERIFY IT). Good luck with that one...

If you don't have such a deal, you don't have squat. Two days after I bought my Jeep Commander, DCC bumped the cashback from $4000 to up to $4500. The only way I could have gotten the $500 is if I took the vehicle back, undid the transaction (and left behind some non-refundable fees) and re-executed the deal. I would have lost money and anyway, I never even considered it. The dates were part of the terms and there's no way around it unless there is fraud.

You have a 1-year old car that has depreciated, the deal was struck, signed and executed, and recent price adjustments have nothing to do with your deal. You could try to sell your car for what you have into it and then go buy a new one but that's the closest you can get to changing things. Do you have the 7/70 power train war.? Does the new deal have it? (I bet it doesn't...)

If you could get an attorney to take the case (you won't) and win in court (not likely) you would set a precedent that fundamentally undermines how business is done in this country. There isn't a judge on the bench that would want to have his name on that decision.

07redroadster I think you should sue yourself for not being clairvoyant and knowing that the price would drop in the future on the crossfire you bought. Then you can sue your lawyer for taking such a silly case and get all your legal fees back!

At least you had the good fortune to speak with someone who was able to retain their composure and say 'no way' ... I'd have expected the person hearing your question to choke, spew their coffee all over the office, then roll on the floor in wild laughter (you know, the action often described as ROFLMFAO) ...

May I suggest getting a grip, developing a sense of personal responsibility and simply enjoying the car you've got ...

I ordered my Roadster Limited in 2004 and paid $41,633.00, within in 2 years the value depreciated to half. none the less I still loved the car and it was priceless to me.

Looking at the invoice for my roadster...$37,327. Started enjoying it in May 2005. Could I have waited and bought the same car in 2008 for $18-20k? Possibly. But it wouldn't have been all mine since birth with no one else's *** in the seat but mine (and my wife's). On the other hand, I jumped on the other two because of depreciation and consider the SRT6 a good deal at $21k and the coupe a decent price at $16.9k. If they had not lost value, I would be a one-XF owner instead of the hat trick.

You are kidding? Right?

I'm sure there is an attorney and a judge somewhere that will take such a case. Try California, 9th district Federal Courts. They love this stupid stuff.
