Default Rear Bumper Cover

Last night, the brick column on my carport jumped out as I was backing up................. Really buggered up my bumper cover.

I've checked on the internet and found one for $215. It's listed as reconditioned.

Questions:
  • Has anyone here purchased a "reconditioned" body part?
  • Recognizing that it will have to be painted, is it too difficult a job for an average guy and his 18 year old son?
Thanks in advance.

Recon. bumpers are junk..............I hate them and refuse to put them on customers' cars.

As far as painting the bumper yourself..........just pay the $200-250 and leave it to the professionals so it doesn't turn out looking like some rattle canned ricer.
