C&D disses the Xfire. Another "top flops" list.
I imagine this isn't the last time the Crossfire will end up on one of these.
There's no doubt it was a sales flop, but I've never met anyone who didn't think the Crossfire was gorgeous.
The car mags hate it because it's not an M3, 911 or Vette. ***** em.

Obviously written by a Clarkson wannabe. It's hard to take it seriously when the article is almost entirely composed of other people's jokes.

Bottom line... let them think the Crossfire is a joke as we are passing them at 150 MPH on the highway. Let them enjoy their hybrids. The only thing that writer will see is our back spoiler.

If the Xfire had a BMW roundel on it, I have a feeling C&D's position on the car would be completely different. Esp. considering BMW pays their electric, utility and rent and college tuition bills
Here is the quote below comparing the crossfire to guns. Libs think guns are bad.
(Incidentally, whose bright idea was it to name a car after multidirectional gunfire, anyway? In what world do you want a car whose name implies that it might go off in any direction at any moment, killing innocent bystanders?)

I think you're reaching a bit there...

I will admit....Libs come in different variations. Not all share the same beliefs as the far left. I tend to have a couple liberal beliefs but I am a right wing conservative that believes in less government. I am not a fan of socialism. However, the general belief among Libs is an anti-hand gun policy. I don't expect a loaded lib to save my life one day because I can cover my own rear... but when all heck breaks loose in this country maybe the more conservative libs (like yourself) will fight on the same side as me!
Hybrids doing 150 MPH? As of right now, that is a negative. Electric cars can be very fast off the line. There are some being produced that can do fast top speeds but I haven't seen any on the road. Bottom line, there are not too many cars on the road today that can do 150 MPH with ease like a crossfire. I have yet to see a hybrid or electric car on the road that can go that fast. If there is one, let me know because I will buy it!

Can you leave out the politics?
There's a whole separate section of the forum for that conversation.
Besides, Independents rule!
Why be on the Left or the Right when you can be right smack in the middle where MOST of the American's values actually reside, thank you very much.
BC.
You are right.... my apology for bringing politics into this. I went way off subject. We may all be different but we have one thing in common. We all love the Crossfire. And we all agree it is not a flop!
blackcrossfire - The Tesla is close to 150, I think they advertise 125 or so as a top speed. Who cares what is faster anyway? In my humble 58 years I've found as fast as someone can go there's always someone coming up behind you that can go a little faster.

It's not the ultimate sports car, and it was a sales flop, but it's one fine looking machine.
My favorite is from a sweet lady easily pushing the century mark who had her great (perhaps more) grandson translate to me (thinking I did not speak spanish) that my red car reminded her of an egg...a garnet-encrusted Faberge egg...that she had once seen in a museum. THAT, to me, will always mean more than what some car 'experts' say.
And as for the Crossfire-as-a-firearm-reference, I always think either of the Stevie Ray Vaughn song. Or as this Forbes article puts it ( http://www.forbes.com/2004/07/12/cz_jf_0712featB.html), it's 'a cool name for a cool car'.
