If you got the means, go for it!! Find a 5.7 hemi to throw in it! A word of caution, The front bumper has been painted at one time. Factory paint will not peel off like that.

Sounds like it suffered from water ingestion. Maybe that's why it doesn't smell like a flood car, and why all the electronics still work. It just might make a good V8 clone car.

Definitely Hydro-locked a cylinder and bent a connecting rod! Someone drove through high water. It would have to be pretty deep to get into the intake.

Even if the water only made it up to the rockers, it would have been deep enough to "swell" up in a wave and probably get high enough to be sucked right into the intake tubes.
I don't understand why anybody driving anything less than an raised 4X4 would ever consider driving thru standing water.

It happens all the time. We even had one drive around a marked cruiser blocking the road. She then expected us to get wet to rescue her as her car started to float!! We made sure her report stated that she drove around a Police barricade so that her insurance wouldn't pay.

I had about the same thing happen. We blocked a bridge that flooded and a guy on a motorcycle try to cross.

I know what you mean 911, I see it on the TV News all the time, and it never ceases to amaze me why people do some of the "dumb" things they do with their cars.

Looks like a great project car! Let us know if you buy it. A Hemi would be really cool but alot more work than a Mercedes V8. With the hemi plan on fabricating engine mounts, exhaust and possible oil pan work not to mention the ECU and anti theft system issues. Keep in mind that a Crossfire is a Chrysler in name only. Here is a MB 500 V8 on ebay for $2500 A super charged 55 AMG engine would be awesome. I found an almost zero miles 500 engine for only about $1600.

We have the M112 eninge in our cars. The V8 engines that will bolt right in are the M113 eninges which is the exact same engine we have plus two cylinders. Here is a link to information on these engines and the cars they came in.

Yep. But you will need C43 exhaust manifolds and dual thin 12" in fans.
