Yet Another Engine Cover
Kindah stole the engine cover design from a pic on here but it works with the car too well to pass up.
Tried to match the intake tubes to the calipers...
Thinking of painting the fuse covers white and put an 'XF' on one of em.
What you think???

Very nice job! I'm not sure how you did your letters but I find a good pair of reading glasses and an xacto knife does the trick. I waited til the paint was dry and just scraped them, came out perfect. Even did the Chrylser emblem.
I like the red and white, really "pops".

Since you asked,
Why wouldn't you use a gloss Red????
And if you do paint the fuse covers as you mentioned, you really should use a white that matches your Crossfire not your refridgerator. Why spend time painting something to only have every other person asking "Why didn't he paint it the same color as the car"? Not to mention what paint jobs like that do to the resale.
Hope you kept the original.
Mike

Lastly, resale? who is selling? Even if I do, you really think that is gonna make any difference?
"Your asking 20k for the car, ill offer 15k cuz of the painted engine cover"?!?
Gotta remember, people in their youth arn't so finicky with those details

No the white doesn't match because it's a DIFFERENT COLOR.
Are you telling me that the RED wouldn't match the calipers if it were painted WELL?
You must have the only satin brake caliper paint in existance.
Your white (the one under the hood) has blue in it which makes it brighter and YES WHITER. DIRT ON A FINISH DOESNT CHANGE A COLORS HUE!
You sent this out asking what people thought about your amaturish work, this is not a knock at you it is just obvious you don't Rod, Mod or paint for a living. Therefore amature.
Not everyone that is on line does substandard work, nor are they a childs mother commending her childs picture by placing it on a refridgerator's door.
I am not the only one here on this forum that knows why it's the wrong color and why there is a lack of luster and apeal to the Red Krylon.
Have a good day

I don't think warm weather or a little sunshine will help this attitude.

As my JK teacher once said " If you like it thats all that matters"... she was so nice
For the people that have lowered the car, is the ride a lot more firm/rough?
With the roads up here I already feel like I'm taking this car off roading...
Thanks for the comments tho

Try putting some gloss clearcoat on the breather tubes? If you don't like that, go gray/textured. maybe a better fit?
Just a suggestion?
