I have recently purchased a 2004 crossfire coupe...love the car,but I recently had the check engine light come on, car seems to run perfectly. I took it to the local dealer who said it was the air injection pump,which as I understand is some what of a commom problem, the scarey part is a new pump installed is almost $900.00 So I found a used one for under $200.00 and put it on myself....no change My question is has anyone had further experience with this? What component should I try next? I wonder what the likely hood is this pump would be bad as well? no way to test the pump that I know of. Any help I would really appreciate. I really love the car, just not sure where to go from here.

Do you know the error code number?

 

Go to an auto parts store that will read codes for free, Or buy a code reader and get the code.

Knowing the code is the first step in diagnoses.
