I ruined mine spray painting it and then trying to sand it and its completely destroyed. I need the portion with the three pointed star on it that covers the front of the engine and has a hole for the oil filter. anyone have one in good condition or know of where i can buy it? thanks

I thought you were using a CF airbox?

 

Yeah I have the renntech airbox but the front cover thingy is just cosmetic, it doesn't do anything but comver the ugly bits of the front of the motor. It snaps on infront of the carbon airbox.

 

Random question... The round electric thing that this part covers, what is it??

Thanks for the link FP but thats the airbox, I don't need that. I need the front portion of the airbox which actually doesn'.t do anything, its just a cosmetic cover. In other words it connects to the front of the airbox and has the Mercedes three pointed star on it, it doesn't actually do anything but cover the hoses and oil filter.

 

I know what you mean. All I said was that this seller had one. It's probably sold by now, but you can check with him.

 

Do all SLK engine covers fit the Crossfire. I'm looking to replace my broken crossfire cover with a Mercedes and don't know what to look for.

 

As long as the SLK has a M112 motor you good

When you say ruinned is it just the finish or is the item destroyed?

I am planning to paint mine so this shouldnt be a problem if its just the finish.
