Quality and reliability are different issues. Within the concept of quality is reliability, but it only makes up a fraction of quality. From person to person and product to product the size of this fraction will vary. Example, most hand made items won't be as precise as automated items. Yet the hand made is of higher quality, to most thinking people. A Ferrari is extremely high quality, by most criteria, but certainly not reliable.
One important factor that convinced me to buy a Crossfire other than its retro styling is the Mercedes engine and parts on it. If it's a 100% Chrysler, I may have think twice and might have bought the Audi TT or the 350z which are more popular for making sports cars.
