Chrysler......or Merced Benz Crossover......
The Crossfire is a beautiful car...great design...but.....it's Mercedes with Chrysler badging...what a disappointmet...to raise the hood and see nothing but Mercedes Benz stamped on every part.
The only thing Chrysler about it is the Chrysler wing badges on the front and rear of the car. Is this the beginning of the Germanizing of Chrysler and Dodge....Who knows.....
Not a lot of real Chrsyler quality built in this Mercedes Benz crossover....

Not sure if you are trolling or just like complaining on forums dedicated to Crossfire fans?
Thanks for the comments and I'm sorry you feel so bad about the MB parts. Best of luck with whatever you purchase.

I'm proud to have a distinctive budget Mercedes in my driveway. In my opinion, looks more distinctive than any Mercedes car except the gull-wing ones.
I also agree that having Mercedes parts is a definite plus in terms of quality.
I've owned several Chryslers in the past and I've seen the quality increase after the Daimler merger and my Crossfire and Pacifica ride like no other Chryslers, they even smell like Euro luxury models.

Now, now--let's all play nicely.
I think if you ask 100 different people you will get 100 diff answers regarding quality of ANY make. I don't think comparing a Chysler Sebring is fair to a Crossfire (one mass made in America w/ Mopar parts, one made in Germany with MB parts in a limited production.)
ALL car brands have "problems." I have only owned Toyota products in the past (Lexus) w/ a couple of minor issues that were resolved. Now you could find someone that had the same car and had a ton of problems--but it's not fair to lump ALL Lexus' in the problem category because of one person. You can rest assured that going to Chysler from Lexus was a HUGE leap for me, but I was willing to "take the risk." I mean I have more friends with BMW's that are plauged with problems, but is that because it's a "German" car no. Just like ALL American cars are bad--they are not.
The forum is dedicated to the information exchange for current/potential Crossfire owners--everyone has opinions good or bad.

I've read some JD power surveys that show american cars quality is rising and european cars are slipping.Audi A6 rated lowest in quality and reliability ratings.BMW x5 beat out Ford Focus with industry leading 12 RECALLS.One survey had Buick having fewer problems than Volkswagen,Auidi,Volvo and Landrover. One report had American cars with half as many reported problems than foreign cars after 3 years.I work for a Chrysler dealer and see the quality improvements.I've gone from overhauling a 100 transmissions a year to just a few this year.We also have a in house Chrysler engineer that works at the dealer and reports any quality problems to Detroit.Chrysler has aways to go but there trying and atleast they build some exciting cars.Nobody takes a second look at a volkswagen or Audi...talk about boring.Later Rich
Just my .02. I never owned a DC product before my 300M. Always Olds and one Regal GS. I took a chance on the 99 300M. I absolutely love the car, but I am of the opinion that build quality gets equated to parts failure by most people. The M had window motor problems, ill fitted Badyear rubber, and tranny input sensor problems. All had nothing to do with the quality of the build, it was the quality or not of the damn parts supplied to go in the car. I believed, probably mistakenly, that Japanese industry probably supplied most of the key electrical parts and gave U.S. mfgs the bad ones/seconds, and put the good ones in the Lexus, Infinity, etc. But maybe not. Anyway, who can fix a "bad part" buy? And how long before it can be corrected? Probably too long in most cases and the reputation damage is already done when the fix gets made. DC did only take one year to dump the Badyears for Michelins, and that helped the ride immeasurably. I would feel better trusting MB parts based upon the mfg's reputation and strength in handling suppliers.
I guess Krooner can't take any critisism of his beloved cars!! Krooner quality and reliability go hand in hand.If the quality isn't there the reliability won't be there.Hence the Audi A6 lowest in quality and reliability!BigMike60 is right Nipendenso makes alot of the window motors, starters and alternators for chrysler cars and they fail like crazy.Chrysler takes alot of heat over bad vendors.

Thought I would get my 2 cents in. First car was a '51 Plymouth in the late '60's, first year production, Laser turbo, '69 Dodge P/U, '86 Dakota 4wd, '95 Sebring, '96 Dodge Ram Sport, and 04 Crossfire. All but the Laser have been generally troublefree. The last four vehicles are still running great and the Dakota now has over 300k. I have found much better quality and reliability in Chrysler over last 20 years. I am looking forward to a long and exciting driving experience with the Crossfire.
I have had 7 Chryslers and 3 Mercedes. I now own the first Daimler-Chrysler. I feel I can speak from experience. Whenever a Chrysler part went bad it was usually something cheap and stupid or something major, no in between. Mercedes problems have all been something electrical like power headrests or the fiber-optic stereo. The engines are absolutely solid and you can expect to get 200,000 miles on this car with no problem. To me, Mercedes put in their best and Chrysler put in their best. The Mercedes Command system is confusing as crap so I'm happy to see the Infiniti radio in it's place. (lighting???) The only thing I miss is the mono wiper but I guess that's because the window is so short. The car feels solid and shows no signs of being a limited production model, like the Prowler. The Prowler had all kinds of quicks and was mainly just a statement of Chrysler's design team flexing its muscles.
