Default Crossfire Brakes

I read an article about the Crossfire that stated that it has drum brakes on the rear. Is this true?

I don't know who you are reading but be assured they are monumentally wrong! The Crossfires are all are equipped with 4 wheel disc antilock brakes. I suggest you cancel your subscription!! Harleygeorge

I do not remeber where I read it. It was an article that was on-line. I figured it was a mistake but had to ask the question. I guess you can't believe everything you read.

The x-fire does have brake shoes on the rear for the emergency brake. I replaced the front with Textar pads which reduced the amount of brake dust considerably.

I agree about the brake dust Pretty annoying. Surprised the Germans haven't figured that out yet and the American didn't care! Can't wait to change the brakes to Textar or other brand Anyone have an idea which pads are best?
