Bumped a curb last nite. SHTZ!!!
Over-caffinated and antsy, cut the corner to friggin tight. Now the right rear wheel matches the 2 left ones I scuffed at a bank teller drive-thru last year.
This suks. I feel like breaking something.

I know how you feel - I caught the guide rail of the car wash with my drivers side front wheel and got a little rash. I know I'm not supposed to machine wash our little beauties, but it was a moment of weakness. I promise I'll never do it again!

I know how you feel, scraped one on a curb quite bad, I felt like selling the car.
Lol (oops, sorry), I guess this happens to all of us. I was out for a drive on a nice sunny Sunday afternoon with about 800 miles on my 08 Coupe, when I hit a curb with my right rear tire. It shouldn't have happened but it did. I have a nice permanent bruise on the wheel to remember it by...

Take a look here - a very good step-by-step how-to on fixing curb rash:

It'll be a project for later this summer/fall.
There's a few little touch-ups on the body to do as well.
Good thing we don't have chrome wheels, huh?
We went to the Dragon, I hadn't drove any at all, finally got behind the wheel on Sat for a whole 20 feet and ran the curb over. Two cuts in the tire and a nice bend on the wheel. I was so surprised and let down it was the first damage to our car. The other member who was in our group was beyond nice, a real first rate member. We have carefully observed curbs and have found there is a magnetism between them and a XF wheels. Its evil and something to be constantly be aware of.

Maybe we should get a group buy on curb feelers? I haven't seen them for years, but they might be worth their weight in gold !! $29.95 per set versus $95 per wheel to fix.
Maybe an LED on the end would make them more appealing.....not.

Proud member of the all 4 wheels curb rash club. Was on my way back from picking up my license plates and got too hot from getting chemo therapy the day before and blacked out for a second. Rubbed the median and scratched both the left tires. Could have been a lot worse. Lost the rear right while picking up a cd I droped and turning at the same time in the neighborhood. Finally rubbed the front right while parking in the street at night. Wanted to get close to the curb but not that close. Had a Jeep before the xfire so curbs didn't really matter. Time to get some new wheels.

I wasted my rear wheel three days after buying the car. Cost me 235.00 USD to fix it. I gladly paid and felt like I'd gotten a deal. I put a rash mark on the front one a few days after getting the repaired one back. I now park about a foot away from the curb and don't even try to get close to the drive up mail box at the P.O.
A piece of advise. If you are willing to take a little extra time use your side view mirrors and adjust down to the curb. You can see the curb and park/drive the CF accordingly. Screw anyone who is impatient behind me at the tellers window. Not worth ruining my wheels over 40 more seconds. Works great every time.

I went through a car wash and scuffed both my rears......I wanted to go in the Sphinx and last someone behind the register....
Last time I use one of those things!

Anybody installed ParkFX? It's an aftermarket auto tilt feature for the wing mirrors.
ParkFX - Backup Warning, Park Assist & Curb Exposure System - Available Exclusively on the LaneFX® System
A bit pricey, but cheaper than a single rim or tire.

i've done the same thing - in my area of Oregon there is a mobile wheel repair company that comes around to all the dealers for work - his rig is totally self contained including a paint shop - i just call him - he tells me when he will be in town - i meet him behind one of the dealers when he is making the rounds and he does a beautiful job of repair - i've had two wheels repaired and i cannot see any sign of the repairs - great work and because its not through the dealer and i think under the table the charge is about $50 - these services must be available in toher places - ask one of the sales or service consultants - thats how i found out.
