a few months back, I got decals, badges, and a nice note...they did say their email had been down, and that was why there weren't any goodies sent out for a long time, once email was back-up, they tried to answer everyone's request...so it wouldn't hurt to see if they would send them out again...I think I will try, since they are out of business, but they did also mention supplies on some of the things they use to send out additional to the decals, and badges wouldn't be restocked...so I would assume the same for badges and decals...

So all of you saying they mailed you badges, do u mean they mailed them to you for free? Haha i'm assuming not, but if anybody has any extras, could you kindly spare one for me haha? Thanks!

Karmann Decals just arrived! Here are the details. I requested them on 06-24-09, they shipped it from Germany, on 06-26-09 and it arrived in NJ on 07-17-09. We simply have to be patient. They'll just show up when you least expect it.

I never asked for decals or badges, my email simply said that they had done an excellent job on the XFire and that it was simply the best engineered and assembled car that I had ever had. I forgot all about it and received the 'package' weeks later.
When asking for the decals do not forget to be polite and say please, it is easy to appear rude in an email, danke.

the reason I asked was, when I recieved mine the last time, they stated the pins were no longer available and there was no plans to restock them...so just decal, and badges for me. So, I thought maybe they are now out of badges...anyway, I just emailed to try and get another set for a future coupe, maybe...

If I recall correctly, I only requested for the decals. In the email, I mentioned something on how excited I was about my recent Crossfire purchase and wished them lots of luck with their business during these tough economic times. I had also mentioned I would pay for them if needed. Like onehundred80 said... "When asking for the decals do not forget to be polite and say please, it is easy to appear rude in an email"

I believe that the request is made on the Karmann website through their online mail system.

If they really have closed their doors, I can have the badges duplicated. They would cost $15 per set of two delivered to the continental US.

HOWEVER, it looks like they may just come back from the dead as per this article dated July 9, 2009.

I sent them two emails after I got my roadster, I didn't take them off of my coupe so I need more. If anyone can help with any spares I'd be quite happy. In the mean time I have read that Volswagen has gotten them out of trouble with a muli million dollar contract. Perhaps I will get some in the mail, I still will need some asap, if I get some more from them, I'll post it on here and give them up.
I think that's the fairest thing to do.
Rick

Dear Mr. Harrison,

thank you for your interest in our company Wilhelm Karmann GmbH and our badges.
We are glad that you are satisfied driving a Chrysler Limited Roadste.

You share the collecting of badges with a lot of other people which also make an effort to obtain these items.

Unfortunately we cannot provide you with the requested decals/ badges because they are not available in our shop until August 2009.

Kind regards

Olcay Polat

This email is worth more than the badges. Perhaps Karmann is not truly down for the count. Why would they have promotional info/gear on order if they were truly throwing the towel in? Seems to me that order would have been canceled if they were closing their doors for good. Heck, the fact that you actually got a email back is interesting enough.

I wrote about 2 weeks ago... Got a couple of the silver stickers in today's mail!

No wonder they are having financial difficulties, at 6 euros postage!

The slip of paper that was enclosed states "...we have run out of decals for the moment. Given the circumstances, we cannot give you a date as to when these will be available to send out again. We hope you like the stickers we enclose."

Can anyone educate me on the difference between stickers and decals??? I always thought they were basically the same!
