One of my closest friends (Shaune Z)'s entire car is that color with a flat black hood.

It really stands out, and attracts a lot of attention where ever he goes.
I agree with the others, tie it in with the wheels. Maybe paint the "routed out" groove in the spokes.

Personally, I don't like it................but to each his own. It would however look "better" if the center lines of the wheel spokes were painted green to match the rest of the theme.

PS The rear side marker light isn't actually painted yellow........is it?

Your friend has a sweet lookin ride! That same flat black color is on our GSX but is a pain to clean! because of it, you cant wash it with soap etc, just dust it and use really neutral waterbased sprays. Otherwise itll wear on the paint and make it swirl etc... (That's how they came out of the factory).

And yeah for the wheels i would say put a green circle around the cap and then the upper lip to keep it from being overwhelming while finishing up the bottom

The Green color was called "Big Bad Green" by American Motors in 1969 & 70. They also offered Big Bad Orange and Big Bad Blue (which can be seen in the Quaker Steak Car show photo). Many people think it's Chrysler's "Sublime" green, but AMC offered it first in 1969.
The black hood treatment was called a "Shadow Mask" hood option, and was actually a "satin" finish that could be polished or waxed.
Sorry, didn't mean to steal the thread.

Eeekk! I would nevverrr wax or polish it lol, well then again i guess thats because were super careful considering how much it would cost to re-do the hood. Good history, Didn't know they called it a Shadow Mask though. Sounds pretty cool haha

And uhhh so i dont feel bad about offtopic... Cool car.. again lol..

Painting the center cap or the groves of the spokes is sooo predictable. Why not be daring and paint just one entire spoke green. Maybe half of the wheel? How about the tire in green and leave the wheel black!
