crossfire coming out with 360 hp!
next year chrysler is planning to release a crossfire with 360 hp which will be faster than the porche boxter. i was informed by my father, a chrysler dealer after he went to a chrysler function yesterday. on a smaller but still very cool note they will be releasing the crossfire convertable later this year.
Hmmm---215 to 360 that seems like a very big jump (not that I would not like to see it!) See if you can get more details or confirmation on this (anyone???). The stock car is going to be 360 or as an option? Is the convertible going to be 360? I can assure you the price won't be $35K with a 360HP engine.
I do not beleive that the car will be 360 hp. I imagine more like 349 horsepower, which is equal to the slk32 roadster. Since the engine fits. I also believe it will be part of the SRT line of cars that you see DCX making. They will use the AMG supercharged version of the 3.2 L and badge it a SRT-6. It most likely will be an option, and I bet you it will be availible in the convertible as well. Yes the convertible is on the way, I suspect you will see it late next calender year. This is just the beginning of great things to come from the merger of Daimler Benz with Chrysler. Be patient.

This posting is from wilmingtonwiggles father. I am a Chrysler dealer and have recently seen the new product. We will have a new convertible in the spring of next year and it's a beautiful machine and yes we will be getting a supercharged SRT-6 model in the fall.I'm not sure about the exact horsepower but it will be between 340 and 360 HP.It has a top speed of 155 MPH. It has better cornering and I want to say it did the 1/4 mile in 5.2 sec.
I have 5 coupes on the ground and 12 on the way. If considering a purchase please e-mail me at johng@neuwirthmotors.com

1/4 mile in 5.2 seconds??? Top fuel funny cars better look out!!! I doubt that even a 360 hp Crossfire can do what it takes over 2,500 hp in a funny car to accomplish.
I stand buy my previous statement.... "I will believe it when I see it." As far as the car doing 155mph.... It will do 150 the way it is now with 215hp.
The SR-10 Viper has 500 hp and does the 1/4 mile in 12.2 seconds. Check Road and Track magazine's Viper Road test to verify the numbers.

5.2...
My guess is that he meant 5.2 0-60. 350 or so hp, 3100 lb car, geared right...that sounds about right.
Making it handle better, that will take some doing. About the only thing the handling needs is rack and pinion. That would be a major improvement, otherwise the usual things would compromise ride, like stiffer bushings.
Problem is, the Supercharged version will probably be north of $40K...
