I read that the original front end design was dropped for two reasons:
1. U.S. safety requirements for front bumper.
2. Vert. styled headlights looked to much like a Caddy.

They did have the Dodge Venom...the original baby viper before the SRT4...would have been amazing to have that in production...2600lb car with a 2.4L turbo I4. RWD. two door... would have been amazing...just think, there are SRT4s running 10s 1/4 right now..imagine how much more fun that would be if the car was RWD....

...and they have the original '89 viper concept. with exposed headers and all...wish they would have kept that look.
