Default Are they bullet proof?

While reading throughout the threads and posts representing literally millions of miles driven, I haven't come across a single mention of a catastrophic engine, transmission or suspension loss. This includes all manner of 'spirited' driving, motocross runs and even drag racing.

Is the platform of the Crossfire that. well designed, well built and time-tested?

well, all in all, they have been only out a short time, so it's hard to tell, but I'd agree, something would or should have shown up by know rather than just a few niggly complaints or problems here and there. So I think the Cross platform is really that good that should be up there with some of the best cars in the worl. That we can get one at this price is phenomenal. I'm a happy fella.

Being as the crossfire is built of mostly Mercedes designed and tested mechanicals, They really are darn reliable.

Seems as though the electrical components have been the biggest issue, and that is true of most German cars.

A few of us have toasted our superchargers but the engines appear to be bulletproof.

Most if not all the people who write on here are into their cars at least enough to take care of the routine maintenance so about the only thing that would be showing up here would be failure from a bad design. Even though the car is (relatively) new, the engine has been out for some time and well sorted by now.

Mine was hit very hard from the rear end... and yet I shut it off at the scene, then decided I'd see if she would start back up.... SHE DID.... no problem, amazes me!

There is only one person I know of with a M112K engine that has had catastrophic failure...RIOT.

I am not going to go into all the details...I don't care to, but long story short...no spark in 3 cylinders, cracked bottom end and chips missing from at least one piston...

had to be completely rebuilt.

But you fail to mention, even though it was nuked it still ran!
Had a bad idle and shuddered at the traffic lights...but it still ran!

So to me they take a licking and keep on ticking...

I have to agree. Why would you put a dude on your sig? But if it turns you on, there's nothing wrong with it
