Just got my tail lights tinted. What You Think?
They look GREAT! I've been thinking about doing mine but I'm a little concerned that with Machine Gray color, the taillights may not stand out enough.
Did you buy a pre-cut set (like we see on eBay all the time) or did you have a local tint shop do the work?

Speaking of the pre-cut film, they are a disaster in my opinion. The fact that they are pre-cut makes the process even more frustrating. instructions say touching film leaves finger prints, and also says the film must be heated/stretched to form to the contoured surface. The handling tabs they put on them rip off because of the sharp edges cut into them. The film is easy to crease, and is semi dull in finish. I've tinted for several years professionally and found these to be a pain in the a$$ to apply
nicely. With two sets of hands and a large piece of tint you could get the film to lay down decently, but it will not match the paint gloss up close. I ripped them off and choked it up to a learning experience.

Looks Great! I had them on mine when I first bought it, but as soon as it was time to have the car inspected, they told me I couldn't have them. I guess New Jersey has different rules for film.
i had tinted tailights on my 32. with a black car and dark tinted lites it was fine during the nite but i almost got slammed in the rear more than once because the the brake lites didnt show up well in the daytime and most of america is doing something other than driving. had to change them for fear of a crash.
just my observation

Mi Patin would look soooo good with tints on the rears FP, but do the fulls, not the cut outs, I guess it gives nice contrast, but on the black, this is the way to go.....
I go the opposite way, I want them brighter. I've been rear ended twice in my pickup and don't care to experience that in my Crossfire. My kids make fun of the LED semi trailor lights I have facing rearward to try and ward off the inattentive people when I'm stopping.
I'm with you, I've been rear ended 3 times driving other cars. I'm not dimming my taillights so some nitwit can run up my backside either.

Larry, I did exactly that, without sacrificing looks.
I have 20LED bulbs in my brake lights, in fact, they are brighter, with the tint over them, than any stock XF. 2 birds - one stone.

Anybody figure out a way to redo the back tail lights with LED's? They make a bulb replacement for the existing bulbs? Most cars have them now and would definatally give the ol girl a facelift! Or should I say a Buttlift! ;-)
