Default Caliper covers

This may be a silly question, but does anybody know where I could get caliper covers, versus painting them, that will fit the Cross NA? I'd like the finish of a cover under the wheels versus just a paint. Thanks.

If you find them, let me know. I'd like to do the same.

FWIW FP I did find the ones on EBay motors from Thailand, and there's measuring instructions, either 9" or 11", so I really have to get down there and see what these look like. My bet is that they'll fit but still not sure about the amount of room between the caliper and the wheel on the NA, may have to shave the back of the cover. It's only ABS so a dremel sand would be easy, but I do like the smooth look of the covers. I'll be sure to let you know what I find out. Hope others can chime in here too. I saw the threads before, albeit sparse, so not alot of info.

Check these out. You need 1" clearance between caliper and wheel.

yes FP, thanks for that link. I'll take a quick look at the calipers, maybe slide under there tonight and measure the clearance, but I do think these will fit, they are 9" to fit the SLK so 9" of the other ones out there should fit too.

Hmmmmm Big brake kit for 4 wheels $4000+ or caliper covers for $69. I don't think the caliper covers guys are stealing much business away from the genuine article.

I've seen so many
bad rattle can caliper paint jobs out there. This would be an improvement at least.

If you think about it, lots of girls are doing the the same thing with hair coloring, makeup, wonderbras, etc. And we men are generally more than cool with that. The 7 billion dollar beauty industry is based on creating an illusion that there is more there than there actually is. What's the difference with "wondercalipers"?

It's a free country. You should be able to jazz up you car all you want, he11 it's not my money!

spots.. no argument...that IS why you can find so many things out there to buy. We generally all like something a little different. If I could justify it to myself and could afford it, I would have big brake kits all around. I did convince myself C32 brakes were doable and am happy.

If the guys want to put nice looking covers on... have at it...

I guess a case could be made for fake things on cars by the manufacturers. Like the side vents on our xfires.

Did you notice the crooked "brembo" on the middle cover?

At least they got the spelling right.

well, all you purists can sleep easy tonight. I just checked the clearance and the fronts only have 1/2" between the calipers and the wheel, which may explain alot why there's so much brake dust on the wheel, not withstanding putting ceramic pads on would help. The backs have about 2 1/2 inches of clearance. I think the covers looked fine, all in all, and I would have spray painted them my own color anyway, w/o any names on them and I think they would have looked just fine. The covers require an inch, so w/o spacers the covers won't work on the fronts. Sleep tight.
