Default What does the insurance do if...?

What will an insurance company do if there is a critical part (the hood) that can be purchased due to a 6 month back order with no guarantee that I will receive it in the first shipment. I'm not going without a car for 6 months. So what does an insurance company do in that situation??? New Car? Total it? I'm at a loss here...

Cliff the info I could give you for my company may not work for your company. Call your agent and call your claims department and ask them, that's the best advise I can give you. You will get a bunch of different answers otherwise. Every insurance company is different.
Good luck with it - Pat
