Concrete Meter Pole - 1. Crossfire - 0
So I hit one of those little concret meter poles this morning...
Less than half a mile from my house to boot, it had rained pretty hevily last night. I was diong the speedlimit, as i entered the left hand turn the car hydroplaned, started sliding sideways, as i hit the grass I managed to straighten out but at that point there was no stopping...
All in all a crappy week. Failed a final, had to write 9 papers for 2 others. Then this morning on the way to the one I failed I do this..

So I need a passenger side foglight assembly and I'm also now looking for an SRT-6 front bumper.

Live and learn.
Just curious, was it an English exam?
180 is right about a cause - but my neice hydroplaned and was KILLED at 45 mph!
You are fine, and the damage isn't THAT bad, from what it looks.

Political science.
I've never had this car lose it like that mid turn. I wasn't driving fast. It wasn't raining just residual water from the rain last night.

Infinite when I was about three years younger than you are now I owned a beautiful 70 1/2 Z-28 Camaro. I worked my butt off for that car, used to park it out in the "boonies" next to a light pole at the mall I worked at. No one ever parked out there yet I could see my car whenever..........one day we had this ice storm and I have to be at work at 9:00 a.m. I make it the 10 miles or so to the mall, they had treated the streets but the mall lot, that was a different story. I crept around the service road to my spot and gingerly inched my way to the pole. I wasn't doing 5 miles an hour and I hit the brake and kept right on going, right into the pole. So it happens to all of us. I learned to saty off the ice in a car like that, sounds like you may need to slow down a bit in wet weather. Hope it works out for you.

It happens Maybe 180 was right, now that I think abotu it, maybe 180 wasn't right.
Who knows? Michelle was 35 and had been driving 17 years!

You could have hit someone else and they could be coming after you in a lawsuit. You could have killing someone... or yourself. The damage doesn't look bad at all. I bet a good bodyshop could heat up that bumper and fix it for a lot less than replacing it. It looks like a half day job. It could have been worse!

The fog lamp shouldn't be hard, but getting an SRT bumper could be next to impossible.
Glad that it was just a minor owieeee.. Good luck on the repairs.

I'm taking it tomorrow to get a paint quote. Looks like the rear mount turbo kit is on hold.
You want a front SRT bumper?
Right!...... I placed a factory order July 1st. It's coming just any day. Starting to get use to the chin scratch. Squirrel Crusher

Sorry Infinite, I just couldn't help myself.
I am sorry about your bad luck though, and believe me, we've all been there at one time or another.
The plastic bumpers on our cars can be manipulated and massaged back into shape pretty well, and it sure beats waiting months for a part that may never come.
Just curious, did you have your TC on?
I had a lady rear end my back bumper at 30 MPH. It looked pretty messed up. The auto body shop did an amazing job making it look like new. I ended up getting a brand new OEM bumper anyway because they claim they weren't happy with the repair (it looked great to me but I didn't argue because I was getting a brand new bumper and I wasn't paying for the job anyway). They had a new bumper delivered real fast but that was right before Chryler went up for sale.
They can repair you bumper.... as long as it is not torn. A tear will come back if you bang it the wrong way.

I have tc disabled.
It's gouged rather nicely and it's indented where I hit. It won't ever be right structurally. I compressed the front bumper about 3 inches when I hit

Your insurance company had better not find out about it. They insured a car that had ESP, this may have prevented the incident. This was no accident as I mentioned in an earlier post, the facts point to you as the main reason for the crash.
My experince with hydroplaning has always been a tire tread problem. My XF did once before I put new tires on the back ( they were worn out). Never have had any trouble since, but always drive with TC active, not sure it would help with hydroplaning but why have it off?
I saw this on ebay you might want to check it out if you can't find a bumper.Chrysler Crossfire Bumper (OEM) Front 2004-2008:eBay Motors (item 300378711109 end time Dec-17-09 13:18:21 PST)
