Default Finally Got a Flat Tire

Well, I was tootling around town today (beautiful 55 degree day here in Colorado) and I apparently ran over a large bolt (3/4" to 1" size). Luckily, I was on city streets and was able to pull over safely. The tire was completely shot (tire chunks inside the tire). I'm sure glad that I bought a road hazard warranty. Only cost me $2 for the tire disposal fee.

I'm glad things worked out for you Itsky. How much wear was on the tire and what kind of tire was it?

General Exclaim UHP with about 3,000 miles on it. I bought it back in Octoboer.

No, it was an $83 tow trip to the tire shop. Luckily I do have roadside assitance with my insurance. However, $83 for a brand new tire is not too bad if you ask me. I don't have a tire plug kit, but I will for sure get one. There is no way a kit would have fixed the hole in this tire though.

Glad to hear things worked out for you Itsky. That's my biggest fear, either a blown tire or crankshaft sensor going south in the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere! A good reason for having towing with an extended warrantee and personal car insurance.
