Default Wow this car is for Midgets....

Just sat in a Crossfire. Not only does the front seat -look- like it's in the back seat, but it -IS- a back seat. No legroom. How tall are you guys in Europe anyway? I would understand an asian car to be set up for 4-5 footers, but European? I'm only 6'1" and my legs just bunch up under the dash. No tilt either to free up my legs, sheesh! C'mon Chrysler, is that too much to ask for you to move the bulkhead back and offer tilt wheel? My thoughts are if foreign companies want to sell cars in America, they need to tailor the cars to American 95th percentile height and weight, not African pygmies....I'm disappointed. I really wanted one, but now I'll have to drive a G35 Coupe to check it out.
Is anyone else worried about getting in an accident with this car? I think if the steering wheel moved an inch you'd need the jaws of life to get me out. Funny that the European community has nearly zip for crash standards, but try to get a lawnmower exported there and you need to jump through fiery hoops with sound and vibration regulation.

Woa, hey ease up on all the short people out there. Chrysler probably did the cabin small for a reason, I'm not sure what it was, but I'm sure it was a good one. No one will blame you for getting a car you're more comfortable in, so go ahead, that G35 is quite a nice car too.

I've driven a Dakota R/T regular cab for the past two years and I find my Crossfire to have more room. I'm 6'1...

I'm 6'2", and weigh 210, and by adjusting the 8 way seat not only do I have more than adequate headroom, but I have more legroom that I did in any of the Mustang GT's I've owned for the past 15 years. I also don't miss tilt; I find that I can telescope the wheel far enough forward that it's comfortable, and with my hands at 9 and 3 I can see all the instrumentation and still feel solid enough to race around an autocross course.
I'm not too worried about getting into an accident in this car either; the safety features are enough to keep me calm.
As for the cabin-size, everything had to fit on the SLK platform, and that included the bulkhead for stability.
Granted, the Crossfire isn't for everybody; obviously it's not for you. Still, designing a car for "4 foot Asians" or "African pygmies" hardly makes good business sense either, and I doubt that anyone at DCX was considering that segment of the market when the car was designed. Just a guess.

I'm 6'2" and weigh 220# and I find the Crossfire very comfortable and have taken 3 hour rides with no problems.

My husband is 6ft 3in., and he fits with an inch of headroom.

Before buying, I looked up the interior specs and compared with the Stratus and the Neon. The Crossfire is right inbetween. When my husband and I sit in a Neon, our elbows are smashed together. In the Crossfire, we have a few inches inbetween.

Randomnickname, dude, at 6-6, you might have to scrunch down to fit. I guess you'll just have to try it out. Good luck.

Yeah I went in today and checked it out, and it wasn;t the most comfortable thing in the world. :P

I'm kinda wondering if there would be an aftermarket modification I could do to retrack the seats lower and/or farther back to make the fit better. Kind of annoying since I can run a 350z and a TT fairly comfortably, if not with extra headroom.

Let me know if anyone hears about the possibility of re-doing the seats, and wish me luck.

The passenger side seat sits much lower than the driver's side seat. I think it is due to the passenger seat being 4-way adjustable instead of 6 way. Maybe ask the dealer if they can switch out the driver's seat for a passenger seat.

A lot of European cars are small. Take the Mini Cooper, Lotus Elise, Elan, etc. MGs, Austins, Jaguar XJs, Nobles, etc.

But I can understand how it may bit a bit uncomfortable for 6'+.

I wish the Crossfire was designed off the SL platform. It would be awesome if it was bigger, possible the length of a 911 or Vette would be nice, and stagger it with 19" F and 20" R!

Midgets--you mean little people. Please give me a break on the how this is made for short people. I''m tall and 190 and it fits like a glove. Now if that describes a midget then get me a dictionary. Obviously this guy came over from some 350Z forum...

So here we have it, from my 5'6" through 6'+ and everyone finds the car comfortable. Boils down to if you like the Crossfire or not. As for me I could just park it in my living room and look at it. Driving it is just frosting.

Make that 5'2" to 6'+

Although cuz I sit so far forward, until I learned to adjust the seat front down, my shin hits the dash above the clutch. How I wish I had seat memory every time I turn it over to a valet parker.
