This Is Crazy!!!!!!!
Sorry to be the most downbeat person on this forum, but I've had it!!!!
I took #2815 to the dealer Monday evening for a transmission problem... the service writter noticed a damaged tire and had to special order it since none were avalible. As of tonight they still have no ETA on a new tire. They say it's coming from France, that can't be for real!!!
This is crazy that Chrysler has been selling a car since July and there are no replacement tires readily avalible or within two or three days away via UPS or FedEx.
Frankly folks, the Crossfire could of been a really nice car... being sold and serviced by Chrysler has made it an expensive joke!!!! Remember the Edsel????
I'm sorry to vent, but the service and support for this car is just plain CRAP!!! I called DC customer service and they would not put me through to a supervisor. They told me to call Michelin!!! I'll try calling again tomorow (maybe it was too close to quitting time and she just wanted to get me off the phone).
I will never again buy another Chrysler product nor recommend them to anyone. This has gone past rotten customer service from a dealership. Even with the Xfire being a new "limited" production model does not excuse the fact you have to wait for well over a week to get a damned tire... that is total BULLS**T!!!!!
PS: The new transmission came in today, but no tires anywhere....

AZ,
I think we all 'feel your pain.' In my view the tires are the most unnerving part of the car...they (and the fact there is no spare) are the reason I won't take that car on any road trip.
That said, when it's time to get tires, the car dealer is the last source I'd deal with. They won't have them in stock, may or may not try too hard to get the right tire, and when it does come in you'll pay absolutely top dollar (although in your case they might cut you a break if you go in wild eyed and angry). AND are you SURE they can mount the tire on those wheels? My Chrysler dealer, whom I'm pleased with, sends all tire mounting work to a custom wheel shop nearby.
Had a British sports car a few years ago, needed a set of tires. Had it in the dealer for other service, he pointed out rightly the need for a set of tires. Said he had them in stock...they were Goodyears that were sold primarily in Europe, factory standard on that year make of car. I asked how much. He told me, I winced.
Went home, priced them from Tire Rack. Had them in stock at about half what the auto dealer wanted. But...passed and got a set of Yokohama AVS Intermediates anyway.
Good luck. You truly must be very frustrated. It's a lot of money to spend for that kind of aggravation. It's little consolation to say that if/when you get it straightened out, the Xfire is a great blvd cruiser and a ball to drive.

AZ:
I had someone contact me today that wants to sell a set of Crossfire wheels and Continental tires at a really great price. He says they only have 300 miles on them. He is going to e-mail me some pictures.
All I really want are the two 18" wheels. If you want to get a set of tires to get you back on the road, maybe we can work out a deal.
That would leave the two 19" wheels available to anyone that might be interested.
You can e-mail me at:
jsisabella@computer-app.com
if you are interested.

Tires are my main concern too. I travel a lot and dred having a flat and having to spend a night or 2 waiting for a ties. A flat on ther interstate probable means a new tire and rim. Guess I need to get a back up set of wheels & tires so If I get stranded I could have then Fed- Xed to me . I might just wait until the current tires need to be changed, say arround 10K then I won't fell so bad about getting new weels & tires. But thats probable not an option as I only have just over 2K on it now (had this one 6 months). Would feel better with run flats also, at least that would save the rims (maybe). I'll be keeping my eye out here and on e-bay for a deal. Any offers, e-mail me a PM
