Default making them is not the issue

I think the actual number is somewhere in between, leaning a bit towards 20K (17 or 18,000?)

Doens't really matter how many are made, though, if all most of them do is sit on a dealer lot, lined up nicely.

I read some of the articles on the home page and the numbers look like 11,000 total production with 8700 being shipped to the U.S.

Asuming that the VIN's are somewhat sequential, my car is VIN 7121 and was purchased early November of 2003. I have a friend that purchased one after Christmas and his VIN is in the 13000's. So I would guess that there will probalbly be around 25,000 built for this model year, with most being delivered to NorthAmerica.

Wow so they lied? I swore I read 8700 somewhere too. I rather them keep the production numbers low.

The numbers I remember reading somewhere before I bought my car last October were 20,000 total, 16000 to the USA and 4000 to Europe.

I will see if I can find where I read that.

Those are the numbers that I've heard. Except I heard that 3,000 would be for Europe (left hand drive) and 2,000 for UK and Australia (rt. hand drive) That leaves 15,000 for the States.

The July 2003 Car And Driver article had it listed as 20,000 total, 17000 to North America.

But I guess it is the 20,000 total that is important!

"The estimated production volume for Crossfire in the 2003 calendar year is 20,000 units worldwide - with approximately 15 per cent of those units going to markets outside North America."

Default total production

I have read in multiple magazines that total worldwide production for 2004 was 11,700, with 9,700 available in the U.S. I just came back from a business trip to Rome and saw a Crossfire driving the streets there. Quite a brave person considering how they drive and how rough the roads are.

I wanted to make it clear that the numbers I mentioned were for the 04 model year, which of course was made in 2003.

Dakota says he has a friend with a vin in the 13000's.

What magazines did you read the 11700 in?

OK, this might be a stupid question, but

How do you know your build date of the car?

Default what crap

You know, when I bought the car I was under the impression that there was 8700 in the US. Now I see VIN numbers in the 10,000. The car WAS selling over list (not that I paid over list) and NOW i see incentives on the car. (I live in NY, but in New England they have incentives) Anyone else getting a bad taste in their month? I really feel like a fool.
