Default Inventory- Jan 1st 2004

Automotive News January 19th issue reports 6800 Crossfires in inventory as of 1/1/2004. They also say this is 229 days of inventory. This is based on the previous months sales. Of course the days of inventory will be higher during the winter months but the inventory is still high. I guess that's why they are now "blowing them out" at Neon prices ($299/mn for 39 month leases). Anybody still paying over MSRP for an X-fire????

Remenber, sport cars like the Crossfire never sell well in the winter time. Heck, GM and Ford are having trouble selling there "regular" cars during this harsh winter.!! ops:

And sad to say, most people still haven't heard of or know what a Crossfire is, after "9" months still being stopped and identifying what I'm driving!!! :?

Maybe that is not so bad!!!

Default No winter here

Tampa Bay dealers are full of cars. Lack of Mfg ads and.. "real guys like truks" inhibit sales.

Tidewater area of Virginia has 5 dealers selling Crossfires. The total inventory (all 5) is 9. They seem to be selling them, but I still have only seen 2 others on the road.

Default INVENTORY

Automotive News shows over 3 times the normal supply (90 days).

Karmann website shows over 18K mfg in 2003.

If Chrysler wants sales where are the national ads ? In this area Chrusler dealers push Pacifica's and PT 's There is a disconnect here.

These poor numbers sound disconcerting, but, you know what, I don't care. I have mine and I love it. I paid book but back in July when book was good.

I enjoy being stopped everywhere and asked what it is. I enjoy not seeing another one every time I turn a corner.

Default One less SUV

Healthy sales would contribute to all....generate aftermarket cool stuff, owner groups where technical info is exchanged.
My view is that DC misjudged the market. How long can Karmann sustain
production with vehicles stacking up here..? Any info on non US sales ??
