Default Another XF problem

After three months of ownership I've discovered a major problem: Everywhere I drive is now at least twice as far away as it used (pre-XF) to be. For example, my office was once 3.1 miles awayc now it's a good 20, lunch was once a couple of miles, now it sometimes is 30-40 miles distant. Even the lowly hardware store that I regularly visit on weekends, which once took me 4 minutes to reach, now can consume an hour, a half a dayc or more. And strangely enough wherever I go, I think I'm getting there a lot faster, but the wife claims it takes a lot longer. Must be one of those space/time-continuum warp things.

Reg,

You call that a problem??? Yesterday the wife and I drove 60 miles one way to the other side of the Valley just for a "pizza". You have to learn to live with it if it is a problem for you. :P  :P

BTW: We're planning a trip up the coast on Hgwy 1 from LA to SF in May. Is the boardwalk still there in Santa Cruz, if so is it open in May???

Yupc the Boardwalk is still there. I think, however, there's a restriction on entry having to do with a dress code. That is, you have to wear your ball cap backwards, have 6 inches of *** crack showing, and know the latest involved hand action.
When you're about to leave, let me know and I'll send you a map of the REAL fun rides.

Okay... I spent nine years in Sacramento in the 70's. Drove by the boardwalk, never stopped. Not worth the time, huh?

Check out this linkc that's a real ride!

The boardwalk is cool. In fact they do a good job at that sort of things. Lot-0-rides, clean, on the beach, and bad food.

Isn't it amazing how many of us go driving for what the uninformed might consider spurious reasons? I do crap like that all the time.

AZ, I may be able to top your 60 mile pizza run. Had a meeting 500 miles away in San Francisco last Monday, so while my coworkers took the two hour flight up, I drove up Highway 1 on Sunday (Santa Cruz is soo beautiful, Reg!), got out of the meeting at 4pm on Monday, was back home by 10pm. Couldn't have been more fun, even with it storming (at least the roads were fairly empty).

i think my xf is defective and i've only had it three days! in the first 24 hours the brakes rarely functioned and she traveled over 950 miles. to make matters worse, the accelerator is finicky and needs major adjustment. i can't keep it at the posted speed limit. i even had to run over a road hazard to cause a flat tire just to get the thing to stop for a rest. i also think something is terribly wrong with the exterior. people keep pointing at the car or pull up alongside and stare. i think maybe it's that broken piece of sheet metal that separates from the car when i hit about 65 mph.

Good for you!!! We're planning a trip up the coast in May. Can't wait.

PS: How's your transmission doing??? Mine is doing great. I'm finally over that "is it going to pop out of gear" phobia.

Yep, it's been 9,000 miles without a single pop! Hooray! Glad to hear it's gone for you as well!

Sounds good to me, I can make a hole in my calander ( As long as it does
not conflict with one of my sons Baseball games ) It would be nice to meet a fellow owner.

OKc maybe we got something going here. The problem, of course, will be our respective schedules. Generally, I'm very flexible Tues. thru Thurs., as the bulk of my biz is on weekends. At this time, however, I have the weeken of May 22-23 open, and possibly either the 8-9 or 15-16 dates.

Count me in! May and June are tough family birthday party months, but let me know the date and place when you have it and I'll be there if I can. I have yet to see another on the road...will even freak ME out to see that many xfs on the road!
