Just registered!
Hey guys I just registered, i bought my car about a month ago...im up in CT and havent tried to drive it in the snow yet. (i totaled my last car and im uneasy about driving in bad weather with it) Anyone else drive theirs in the snow at all? How does it handle? Thankfully summers right around the corner so i wont have to worry but im thinking about buying snow tires for next winter.... Any suggestions from experience? Thanks so much!!
Welcome to the forum. There are many members that drive them in the northern winters. Get some good winter tires, and put a couple of sand bags in the back.
Congrats on the new ride.
I use Goodyear F1-AS (all season) tires and 140 pounds of sand in the trunk. Not a single problem here in Michigan. It's been my daily driver for 4 years now.

You mentioned you totalled your last car - was it rear wheel drive too?
Just a quick word that if it was front wheel or all wheel, going back to rear wheel is a little different. Might want to just get used to the feel before you go all out. Especially with snow driving - hit up a clear parking lot and do some sliding around to get a good feel for the car's reactions before dealing with traffic too. Although I initially had rear wheel drive cars - most of my life has been front wheel drive which definitely handles differently, esp.on questionable road services. Just my two cents.
Welcome Jocie. You'll love it. Here in MN drove it all winter on the original Conti's no problem except for !snow day of 8-10" of heavy wet snows, and even then as long as I kept moving it was fine, I only worried about the other folks hitting me. I had a 50# bag of salt in the back over the axle, and that really helps. My next tires will most likely be the Conti A/S DWS's. Leave the traction control on, and put the switch into W, the one on the console, and you'll be just fine. Enjoy your new ride! BTW, nightrider is in CT too, and he drives his roadster all winter too.
I have an srt-6, its terrible in the snow. But i only had 1 month experience. But believe me. Pulling outta my flat drive-way i was spinning my tires. if you can just buy a winter beater, almost the cost of wnter tires alone, get like a 2000 dodge neon. IMO.

I too live in Michigan, but do not drive my 05 limited 6 speed in snow.
For me, it is just a toy, but as with any car, if you drive defensivly in snow, you should have no problems.
Good luck
