Unhappy So I damaged my baby in the snow...No Insurance...Now what?

So a few weeks ago it snowed here in Texas and unfortunitly I slid and wreaked my car -LONG story short on that day I did not have insurance (No I normally do NOT drive without insurance) so I am stuck paying for this out of pocket. I went and had an estimate few days ago and looks like ill be needing:

♦New Hood
♦New Grill
♦New Headlight Cover (Assembly)
♦Front bumper reconditioned

Total=$3100

They had a crossfire already in their shop that had been there for 3 months waiting on parts the guy said and then he called a few places to see what he could do and no one he new had crossfire parts. Anyway...So I found a link on one of the threads that directed me to a place that makes a grill/billet that I liked-Obviously not a stock grill like I have now BUT one that I think looks even better . I have a friend that will recondition the front bumper (WAY cheaper than they estimated of course) SO that leaves me with my right headlight and my hood to get parts for.

Question:

1. Should I get the hood fixed OR just get a whole new hood? and if I decide new hood where do yall recommend I look?

2. The headlight looks to me like it just needs a new clear cover and not the whole assembly as the guy said BUT I could def be wrong as im not even sure if you can buy just the cover or if I will have to buy the whole assembly? And again, any suggestions on where one might get this part would be greatly appreciated?

If and when I get the parts I have another friend who can put them on for me SO im hoping that when im done maybe ill only be out $1500 bucks instead of $3000--I Hope.

Thank you for any help/links you can give me.

I'm farely sure that you can't just replace the clear plastic on the headlight and sadly that's not going to buff out lol I thought I saw on here somewhere that there is a website selling and producing our bumpers. If you can find it I would definately switch to the SRT bumper. Also since you'll have them out $80 will get you some HID Headlights and Fogs... $40 more will get you high beams too

I don't know about the hood, but if it was me I'd probably replace it. I'm **** like that

♦New Hood
♦New Grill
♦New Headlight Cover (Assembly)
♦Front bumper reconditioned

Fix the hood
fix the bumper
Go on ebay for the light and grill. Probably $150 for the light(THERE IS A BRAND NEW ONE FOR $381 ON EBAY) and $100 for the grill(BULLET GRILLS ON EBAY). You might get a reconditioned front bumper for $200-300. * iDIDNT SEE ANY BUMPERS ON EBAY)

Find a hole in the wall body shop that will pull and straighten the front bar or borrow a puller . If you were near Miami NP. Less then a grand.

+1 on the SRT bumper. If you can find one, they are only $300. Headlamp assemblies are around 400. Hood runs around 630. Grill, might as well go with billet. You might be able to find some used, and save some dollars. Good luck with it.

I think I would want a new hood depending on price. The front cover is really cheapest at the dealer. A local bumper reconditioner wanted over $600 for an SRT Cover, with my NA for a core. The dealer was close to $300 for new.

I see headlight assemblies on eBay all the time, not sure of the price.

Good Luck.

Search national junk yards for headlights, I agree with the idea about just replacing the grill with a new bullet one as I'm sure it won't cost as much, get with Mad_Med05X on his Vented Carbon Fiber Hood (click for link) and see just how close and how much it would cost, and lastly.....don't drive in the snow in Texas, just be happy it wasn't a Texas sized accident!

Good luck

Yeah, if the carbon fiber hood comes through, there may be a number of stock hoods for sale cheap.

I've used a company by the name of Certifit. They manufacture bumper covers in the US. I did check their catalog and saw nothing for the crossfire, but maybe a phn call might prove the cat. wrong. Might be worth a try.
It's Certifit.com

Just checked Wholesalemopar.com I see a bunch of parts you'll need to rebuild the front end, not cheap though

My experience in Dallas is when snow and ice are on the roads, stay off! And it is not the snow and ice that are the problem... it is the drivers. People in Dallas don't know how to drive in those types of conditions. Sorry you smacked up your car. The problem with our cars is the high expense to fix them (they crumble pretty easy)... and the parts are becoming very difficult to find. If you look around you will find them!

I would get most of it fixed, but if you replace the hood, keep it. Its not that bad and others would love to have such a minor dent to start with for a hood repair.

It would be a good hood to start a hood project with for sure. That is if you can store it. WOODY

Move to South Carolina? Oh, about the car... Fix it of course, then move to South Carolina.

To see your baby like that but with a little surgery she'll be right back to almost new.

Your lucky, really lucky, no one was hurt. Count your blessings it'll only cost you 3100 at most. If you got caught or hurt someone, it could have been multiple times that in fines/litigation/hospitalization of you or third parties. I hope you got your insurance reactivated!

Join the Cowtown Mopar club. We get good discounts from Allen Samuels Dodge. I should know since I'm the club president.

However, we frown on people who join to mooch the discount. You will need to have a membership card to get the discount since so many others have tried to scam the cheap price.

You enjoy having a Chrysler product so you should hook up with us anyway.

I really miss my SRT-6.

Could be worse buddy... check out my crossfire...

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...back-road.html

These are the parts I think I need but I'm not a mechanic so any advice would be appreciated...

A Front bumper
Passenger side headlight
Bonnet
Crossmember,
Slam Panel

If you have any of these or know where I can get them please let me know.

The spoiler is stuck in the up position at the moment I tried to retract it via the button on the dash but the light is flashing and nothing happens... is this just a fuse or is that broke as well do you think?

I'm actually from uk, but so desperate for parts I may have to buy from usa
