Does not matter if you have more cash, that shop caused the damage. They need to be more careful with other peoples property. Maybe on the next car, or next time they work on yours, they will be more particular.

Shops are insured for collisions and cars falling off lifts. There is generally a $1000 deductible. If one of our guys damages a car he is responsible for the deductible. It encourages the guys to take care.
That engine cover doesn't cost $1000 so the insurance company will never know about it.
We've got over 100 techs and 136 bays. Occasionally something gets bent. Luckily, we have a body shop to deal with it. Since we're primarily a Mercedes dealer those are the most frequent victims. We had a Porsche Panamera suffer damage a couple weeks ago. I'm just glad we haven't hurt a Bentley, Rolls, SLR, or Veyron. That would be ugly.
