Driving in the Rain
I drive a 2004 coupe and even though I LOVE the car it drives like S*#% in the RAIN. I Know it is a rear wheel driving but is there any way I can make it at more RELIABLE in the rain?
Rain Tires would sacrifice much the performance on dry weather? Thanks |
Re: Driving in the Rain
If you have the stock conti's check the treadwear, personally I think that quite a few "summer" tires to quite well in the rain, I have the general exclaim UHP's and I'll never go back, they're reasonably priced, and do well in the rain, and amazing on dry pavement. They're a little noisy, but it's comparable to conti's. If you have the Michelin pilot PS2's then yeah they're terrible in the rain, but AMAZING on dry pavement.

Re: Driving in the Rain
What do you have for tires and how many miles are on them?

Re: Driving in the Rain
Don't push the pedal down so far/so fast.
I haven't had any trouble with my car in the snow...though it did have winter tires on it, but still... |
Re: Driving in the Rain
Never any problems in the rain even when the originals were worn down to slicks. The problem is you can't drive 100+ MPH in the rain and you can't step on the gas either. Know that when it rains or snows, just slow it down and don't make any sharp turns.
Don't blame the tires... blame the road conditions and drive according to those conditions. |

Re: Driving in the Rain
I have driven on PS2's, Contis and Kumho's and have had not problems. Yes, if I push the gas to fast they will all slip a little in the rain.... I live in Oregon....we get a little rain..... there are limits to everything....;)

Re: Driving in the Rain
First thing I did when I bought my '05 coupe in '08,was buy a full set of new Conti's. So far they've been excellent in the rain. No complaints.

Re: Driving in the Rain
I would have to say the problem is you or you have some sort of drag radials on, This car drives like dream in rain. just as good as on a dry surface.

Re: Driving in the Rain
Mine has a problem in the rain also. I am not sure what it is, but every time it is raining, there is an orange colored light that keeps flashing on my dash, and it won't stop flashing. It gets pretty damn annoying.

Re: Driving in the Rain
I have old Conti's on mine and I have no problem in the rain. That flashing light means that there is a crash about to happen and the car is trying to save you.

Re: Driving in the Rain
Bat has the GoodYear Eagle F1 DS-G3 tires on her Crossfire, and they are one of the best rain tires I've ever had the pleasure to drive on in a sports car.
No flashy yellow light or anything. BC. |
Re: Driving in the Rain
I have the Michelin pilot on my srt6 and have no problem in the rain. Ran the Dragon last spring fall with them with the best ride and control yet. Rain or shine
